July 8, 20241 yr Long time ago TFDI had own forum, now i cannot find it on their page, only some Discord c..p. How to follow MD11 development, service packs log etc? Is it so that you have to be active user of 'social stuff' to be able to follow development process? Edited July 8, 20241 yr by Beardyman Artur

July 8, 20241 yr Author If no forum or decent info easily available for me, then purchase of this plane is delayed for unknown future 😕 Artur

It’s a great aircraft, I hope discord will not prevent you from getting it. I just joined their server today, it’s not too hard to navigate, just takes a bit of practice. Certainly easier than flying a complex airliner like the MD11 😀 Also, Avsim users are usually very quick to post news and updates so I think it’s possible to get by without even joining their discord server. Sorry Capt. Hard pass. I tried discord once but it was a mind boggling, confusing, frustrating process with rapid fire non-linear dialogue that was off-putting to me. For an autistic mind like mine it was overwhelming. Jack Sawyer

Agree. Don't know why so many say it's great. Awful, disorganised way to promulgate information. Edited July 8, 20241 yr by DavidP David Porrett

I had been watching several YT’s on the plane yesterday and today and was trying to find a forum. I actually worked these for years with my A&P license but retired now. So yeah, was ready to buy but then I found this thread and now no way. I’ll stick with my 777. Sad too because back in the day I bought some of their stuff. Jack Sawyer

July 9, 20241 yr I don't understand why you'd knock back buying this just because they use Discord. Their discord page is setup really well, with separate general chat, update and support areas. The dev, support and moderator personnel are all on there actively engaging with the community. Well done TFDI. Jase Jaseman. Lovin it up here........ July 9, 20241 yr I find discord awful as some people there can't control themselves from nonsense chatter that is off topic to a discussion. Its clunky messy and FOS. But that is the way things are going these days (dealing with discord) and I'm not patient or ready for it yet.

Agreed, Discord does seem like a "gif" fest at times, but I do find it informative though, it does keep me abreast of all that's going on in the 15+ channels I use. i913900KF (5.8GHz) | Case: Fractal PopAir RGB I Gigabyte Z790 UD AX| MSI Gaming RTX 4070Ti Super 16GB | Kingston Fury Beast 64GB DDR5 5200Mhz | SOLIDIGM P41 Plus 2TB NVMe M.2 SSD | Samsung SSD 870 EVO 2TB | Thermalright Frozen Notte 240 MM Liquid Cooling | LG EVO 42" Monitor 3840 x 2160 120Hz | Honeycomb Alpha & Bravo | Logitech G Pro pedals | Tobii EyeTracker | 850W Thermaltake 80+ GOLD |

If you just want to see news about the plane, its fairly easy, just enter to the "Community Updates" section. That's a read-only section where only the dev team puts info. Only info related to the development and future patches. No noise, no users, nothing. Just dev info. Juan Ramos
