...and yet they do.

Pico Neo3 Link VR - Windows 11 64bit, Gigabyte Z590 Aorus Elite Mobo, i7-10700KF CPU, Gigabyte RX 9070 XT OC 16gb (AMD GPU), 32gig Corsair 3600mhz RAM, SSD x2 + M.2 SSD 1tb x1

Saitek X45 HOTAS - Saitek Pro Rudder Pedals - Logitech Flight Yoke - Homemade 3 Button & 8-directional Joystick Box, SNES Controller (used as a Button Box - Additional USB Numpad (used as a Button Box)

Why not?

No matter how silly you might think this mod is, others may like what it does. The person who created it surely spent some time developing it, and feels that the product is worth selling. The great thing about Capitalism is that if people like his mod, he will make money. If they don't, he'll starve (I hope he has a real job).

The mod is not silly. Selling it is silly. And a similar mod is available as freeware since very long time https://github.com/clompsy/msfs_nameplates

so it is worth 5 euros for the effort to ask Microsoft put in the marketplace so it's available in xbox ? lol

Then I'm going to copy all of the freewares, tweak some this and that and push in the marketplace for some bucks. Easy money

I'm sure you are aware that marketplace certification is the only way your going to get anything installed in MSFS2020 for Xbox. IF whomever wrote this program thinks its worth 5 bucks to go through the process that's their call.

You can accept it and pay for it if you find value in it or simply don't.

I can't see anywhere that says users have to purchase it.

The market will decide what it's worth.

I think the only products Microsoft should not allow are those that are fraudulent- do not work as advertised or are falsely represented.  Other than that, I’d rather decide on my own what to purchase than give decision making rights to a nameless, faceless person / department within some corporate bureaucracy.

Do you have to buy it? No? Then problem solved.

Selling it is not silly. Buying it, on the other hand....

Other than that, you can't set a price lower than 4.99$ (or higher than 149.99$ ) on the Marketplace so, even if the author might have realized this might have been a good deal at 0.99$ (and I'm sure it would have sold way more), he simply couldn't.

I guess Microsoft set this limit because lower than 4.99$ the admin cost would make them losing money on handling it.

At the sale price of 2 Euros it is surely a bargain then?

Cheers
