Best yoke for the 737 for FS2020?

Featured Replies

Hi flyers

I am thinking of buying a yoke for the 737 for FS2020 and am aware of various yokes e.g. Thrustmaster, Virpil, Honeycomb, CH Products.

I plan to use the yoke primarily for PMDG 737 and the upcoming iFly 737 Max and am interested in your opinions.

Based on your yoke purchase and experience, please let me know:

a) the yoke that gives the 'best' value in terms of price and performance?

b) the yoke that gives the most realistic (high quality) performance regardless of the price?

It's expensive but I use the Yoko Yoke.  It feels very much like the real yoke I used to use on the real 737's I used to work on in real life.

TM Boeing yoke is awesome and would work great for the 737.   I had the Honeycomb for about 2 years and would not recommend for many, many reasons....

Fabulous yoke modeled after the 787 pendulum yoke.  HALL type sensors, adjustable tension, big ranges, not expensive and has a built-in keyboard mount if you're so inclined.  The only potential downside is that it has serious top to bottom height meaning the lower part will sit between your legs.  It helps to have a concave desk edge to mount to, like this:04-A8-F019-49-E6-4920-9-E96-0-A6-EF3-D5-

I've since bought the TM TQ as well and have no problem recommending it, or two of them as desired.

I've always been intrigued by that yoke. I love the pendular rudder pedals and have always wondered what that yoke would feel like.   I also like it's button arrays... Not sure about the two little throttle levers down there though.  Rapid movements of the throttles can look very funny to someone standing behind you watching 😂

I have the Brunner and for FFB it is phenomenal, I love watching the yoke move on its own as well as the overall feel and the trim physically moving the yoke but from a price point they can be prohibitive.

Have a Wonderful Day

Thank you all for your feedback so far.

The Yoko Yoke and Brunner CLS-E NG Yoke certainly look very high quality and would definitely enhance the 'immersion' experience quite considerably.

The Thrustmaster also looks very good from a price/performance point of view.

If I read the description right the TM 787 yoke weighs almost fifteen pounds ? I would hate to drop that big boy on my foot.

I use the TM 787 yoke ( and a fulcrum yoke) and have been relegated to flying the 787 in the real world, so can make an informed comparison.

I’ve been impressed by the TM yoke, it’s a good yoke for airliner flying, in fact the base mechanism is so good I personally feel it’s let down by it’s plastic yoke, which although doesn’t feel cheap, is not authentic to the real 787’s metal yoke. ( ironic as most of the the rest of the plane is made of plastic)

The new 737 style virpil yoke looks quite interesting.

Thats for making this post! When I ever decide to upgrade to a yoke it may be this yoke. Still haven't made up my mind between yoke or flight stick since I fly a bit of everything to include the A320.

Will need to build a small shelf I can mount them on and move when not in use since I play other things on my computer and my desktop is to tall.

I made the decision that my next upgrade (currently honeycomb yoke and VKB stick) will need to be force feedback!
Pretty big price difference though. I was looking at Brunner for both potentially, straight after remortgaging the house obviously!

Only looking for potentially mid next year so maybe some more Ffb options crop up closer to the time.

Those are just two generic axes which I use for speed brake, they're not throttle levers.  TM TQ for that.

I really wanted to like this yoke, but it's not really that great -- feels weak, and the spring system is a bit rudimentary. I've also got one axis that's failing after one year of use. The FlightSim yoke looks really nice. The new VIRPL one releasing soon will be interesting as well.

Sounds like you are thinking along this idea?

Cant get the image to embed sorry about that but the picture is my setup. Im probably going to get a bravo Throttle but i do not want to mount it on my desk either so i will probably modify my stand and mount it there to the right of the yoke.

I use the Honeycomb which takes up very little room on the desktop. By using some velcro and and a monitor stand and keyboard tray to cover the yoke body and now my keyboard fits right on top at a nice angle and height. So I lose no deskspace at all.

And on top of that, I velcroed a slanted tray to hold the keyboard tilted instead of flat,, it is 17" wide which is perfect.

A lot of chatter on the forums about the CL60 which is force feedback and under $1000.

Yes, that would work. Whats it called and where did you get it? Might be better than building one lol.
