look at this the there is something wrong with gpu performance in msfs 24

You are not looking at MSFS 2024 final, you are looking at a Tech Alpha specifically released without full features to test specific items.

I’ve watched tons of content and one thing is clear, despite no photogrammetry, AI traffic etc the fps isn’t great. So yes it’s an alpha and I’m pinning my hopes on the bad fps to that - but you would have thought adding more streaming content would impact it negatively- not the other way around

There's added telemetry and whatever other data gathering code both on the client and server side of this MSFS tech alpha. That very likely impacts FPS, so we really have no way to gauge performance of the release by this alpha.

Does TLOD affect the distant textures or just the distance that autogen is drawn?  Mine was set to 100, and much more introduced stutters.  I found the distant mountains to be pretty blurry and mushy.  The lighting is superb but for me the performance and terrain were no better than FS2020, and probably worse.  (Nvidia 3080 and 150 meg internet)

I love how fast it loads into the flights.. and how fast it goes back to the main menu. I'm on 1Gbps fiber and it's a LOT faster to load as compared to 2020.

If I gave my dad this game and a joystick for Christmas, there's no way he'd be able to set up his controls in a reasonable amount of time without help. There are a lot of things I like about this sim, and I'm really looking forward to the final version, but I cannot believe the state of the control settings.

Yes, the control setup is confusing for sure. It seems very flexible though, and once I've set it up I mostly forget about it. But yes, it's a pain to get everything setup the first time. Hoping this is improved before launch.

For me FPS has been fine, with one exception that may be tripping up a lot of people out there. Frame generation does not appear to be working when TAA is active in this Alpha.

I have exactly the opposite experience... and i also gave 1gbs internet. Trying not to worry too much about it and hope they can see and adjust as needed but i cant help but now be a bit concerned about the streaming aspect of this iteration of the sim.

Which airports are being slow for you? I'll try them out. I have tried

Toronto, Austin, Sedona, Mallorca, Cochin (and a bunch more that I dont' remember now), and these loaded fast.

The final version of the sim will have pre-sets for different controllers. They're just missing in the Alpha.
