October 25, 20241 yr From a few short flights, I can see some improvements related to: - Improved flight control handling/feel for all 737 types using PMDG's "fly-by-software" modeling suite. - Improved control feel in ground effect for all 737 types. Converted 737 series to use Navigraph's modern database format (ARINC 424 emulated) - Implementation of Asobo weather "radar" returns on appropriate displays. (shows Asobo layer, is not actually radar) Now, unfortunately, these items are still broken: - Improved taxi handling using lessons learned from 777 development. - Significant lateral path improvements to leverage navdata capabilities. - AFDS roll mode control logic improved to leverage lateral path improvements. Look at this approach to KEWR. The same unrealistic banking left and right at the WPT passage remains. Do they have any quality control measures in place? I don’t understand how they could miss these issues. It’s clear that they are trying to fix things, but I find it hard to believe that the real pilots involved in this project don't notice these problems. Perhaps it is beyond a programmer’s ability to code correctly. It's even more puzzling that their real pilots release videos claiming everything is fine. Something is definitely wrong here, the other developers don't have these issues. Edited October 25, 20241 yr by LRBS 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.
October 25, 20241 yr Some of us still can’t even fly after the update. Nah data is broken for many and also unable to update. Some are getting black screens with the EFB or a spinning wheel. Guess we will see what update or work around they’re able to push. October 25, 20241 yr Now that the 737 update is out, I wonder if they’re still on track to release the 777F before the end of the month. Strange enough, is RSR a pilot who doesn't see this? Is he happy with this "progress"? 747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I loaded the update and had a look around but if turns are still like the OP displayed that is just too bad. I also noticed that after all this time the cockpit door still does not open and the texturing on the entry way is just terrible (I know, not important to flight, it is just a pet peeve of mine -- why can't they animate a cockpit door like Fenix instead of the -- "now to get the the cabin you can just walk straight through the cockpit door" feature.) October 25, 20241 yr My 800 and 900 don't update navigraph data. Also, tablet was broken and had to reinstall 800 and 900 to fix it, but navigraph is still not updating, stuck at about 80%. October 25, 20241 yr Did the RNAV20 approach in KGPI and it was very slightly twitchy on the turns (no odd turns to the left before turning right) and it stayed within .01 . Will try the RNAVY29 app into kewr later to see if it has the same problems.
October 25, 20241 yr going to have to try this tomorrow see if i get the same results I7-8700k,Corsair h1101 cooler ,Asus Strix Gaming Intel Z370 S11 motherboard, Corsair 32gb ramDD4,, gtx 1080ti Card, RM850 power supply Peter kelberg
October 25, 20241 yr Just did the RNAVY29 approach into KEWR. It kept to the leg better than LRBS posted, so I'm not sure what happened. I used clear weather with no wind. I did notice it oddly banked left a bit when it hit JIMLO but it mainly stayed within .01. That being said it did go up to .04 once, as pictured below. Still very slightly twitchy on the turn, but not too bad.

What's also cute is that the ND is claiming "ANP 0.06" while at the same time acknowledging that you're 0.42 miles left of track. 🤷♂️ Nerd time: OK, technically the aircraft is required to stay within the ANP only 95% of the time. But that 95% number looks suspiciously like it refers to two standard deviations of a normal distribution (I've never found a reference that actually says this -- does anyone have one?). 0.42 miles then correspond to 14 standard deviations. I've tried calculating the probability of being at or beyond 14 standard deviations, but it's so low that all of the online calculators I've tried simply round it down to zero. And of course, from a practical standpoint, being 0.42 miles off track when the claimed ANP is 0.06 seems pretty bad...
