New PMDG update

Featured Replies

OK so I figured it out on my side.

When I updated PMDG, loaded up sim and I discovered that EFB screen  is black with logo spinning. I quit sim and went to check navigraph app. Navigraph shows all navdata for 737 need to be updated. So I updated 737s nav data via navigraph and fired sim again. After that  EFB loaded just fine, I went to navdata tab and it prompted me to install navigraph data. So I did ;however, progress bar went only up to 70% and stuck. Again I exited sim, went to navigraph app deleted all nav data for 737s and installed it again. Next I launched sim again (for the 3rd time) went to EFB-> navdata tab and clicked on "install navdata" and finally third time is a charm. Everything got installed! So everything works now!

Note 777 updates had similar issue . Without installing nav data aircraft flies funky so that could be a culprit . PMDG should  really see it coming and either test their update thoroughly or provide some instruction of how to update properly

  • Indeed. I did a couple of flights tonight and had no real issues. The update is indeed a major improvement over what was already a great addon. There are a couple of minor nitpicks, but nothing that c

I updated the OC first then applied aircraft update, so far I haven't had any issues whatsoever.

I agree, they really did a half baked job at beta testing this update, and after all these weeks of waiting.

I updated the OC a couple days back when it was available. Installed the update. Updated via Navigraph Hub (which PMDG now says not to do). Loaded the plane, and eventually updated the data through the EFB. Everything went fine there, but if I go into the EFB, into the navdata tab, it does continuously tell me the navdata needs to be updated. I just ignore it.

Did you scan the QR code in the EFB, and update your Navigraph account info with that before updating?

I never got a prompt to scan a QR code. Probably because I already had the plane registered in Navigraph. I did not update via the Hub as the instructions, and instead updated through the EFB.

The plane flew fine.

Just deleted my navdata prior to updating (OPs Center first and then aircraft) and have no issues at all. Into my second flight from EDDM to LEPA.

MY EFB still says I don't have the current navigraph data, even though I already updated it through the EFB, and FMC says my data is up to date. This PMDG update is turning out to be a real piece of word not allowed.

Hi there! Thanks. To be clear, I don't have a problem with the navdata. My plane works fine and was able to install the data successfully from the start. I just get a prompt to reinstall the navdata if I go into the tab. I'm just listing what I did and my results if anyone is interested.

I can't get the Navigraph update on the tablet to advance much past 75%, it just hangs. I regularly update Navigraph through the hub and did so a few days ago so maybe that is the source of the issue for me, but the option to remove the data is gone from the hub now. Whatever the reason, the time is not worth it to me and I will just set PMDG aside for these last few remaining weeks of 2020 and then reinstall when their products come out for 2024. Plenty of other great aircraft to fly.

Same here  , i followed the OC update first - Navdata hangs at 80% - trying now to delete all Navdata related in the "package" folder
