New PMDG update

Featured Replies

I uninstalled the whole PMDG 700/800/900 off my system.  It has become the worst add-on I've had in a long time.  Each update just gets worse.  The gear sound now plays abruptly, no build up to the wind.  The gear sounds are screwed up big time.  The tablet just spins on a black screen.  The flight dynamics seem to be much worse now.  The LNAV is still twitchy in a bank.  I have never been happy with this plane in MSFS.  It's either freezing panels, terrible flight dynamics, tablet problems.  PMDG have talked about a "professional" product line, and that means nothing since MSFS is not an FAA certified sim, but they clearly no longer care about putting out top add-ons.  There was a time PMDG dominated my hard drive and I knew they would be excellent aircraft.

Happy to save you the trouble. May try it with winds tomorrow to see how it fares.

I spent a few more hours at different airports; each approach tells a different story. Plus, it can't update nav data. It's not a solid platform, so very unrealistic compared to other developers.
It's very disappointing. Enough is enough with this PMDG. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel with them.

747 Captain for the last 39 years, and still learning.

I note ANP 0.07 but 0.11 miles left of track in the first picture, ANP 0.06 but 0.08 miles right of track in the second picture...

Was looking forward to a few short sectors in the 737 today, but having read this thread, I'll stick with Fenix until they release an update to fix the update.

Indeed. I did a couple of flights tonight and had no real issues. The update is indeed a major improvement over what was already a great addon. There are a couple of minor nitpicks, but nothing that changes that evaluation.

I suggest doing your own flying and drawing your own conclusions, especially when you see someone bashing the developer in question quite openly in their previous posting history.

He probably wants to err on the side of caution. After all, the 737 is perfectly flyable as it stands. Why risk making it worse until the situation regarding this update becomes clear?

Well, I don't know what I'm doing differently but I just flew the NZQN RWY23 RNP-Z via the UBDAM5B arrival and the 737 flew it perfectly.

You need to update navigraph nav data after updating PMDG and spinning goes away.

loads all fine but still messed up with my system, AP cannot be engaged, neither VNAV or LNAV, also no heading. well, basically nothing. Throttle (TM Airbus, previously configured especially for the 737 and working fine) does only react to flaps and full throttle but once in the air thrust cannot be adjusted anymore, quit my first flight now. will restart and report to PMDG if issues continue

EDIT TM works after reboot, throttle, flaps, gear and brakes. no AP function mapped to the TM throttle quadrant so that should not be the culprit. just posted over at the PMDG forum. never had an issue before with any PMDG planes so I do not even have a support login and will first wait for responses whether I am really the only one...
