New PMDG update

Featured Replies

I’ve been flying the ifly 737 now in VR for 2 weeks… it is awesome, very immersive in VR for sure especially on take off… I’ll update my PMDG 737 and give it do anyway. … I love their 777

  • Indeed. I did a couple of flights tonight and had no real issues. The update is indeed a major improvement over what was already a great addon. There are a couple of minor nitpicks, but nothing that c

Well to be fair, I never said it was "across the board superior", I said "comparable", which was in response to you suggesting that if anyone thought the iFly approached the level of PMDG, they must n

This is what they posted on the PMDG forum to fix the Navigraph update problem after installing the latest PMDG update. I am suprised they didn't suggest reinstalling MSFS 2020 and windows. 😉

Store version (Steam version below):

  1. Remove any installed liveries for the 737-800 from the Operations Center
  2. Uninstall the 737-800 from add/remove programs.
  3. Go too {SIM}\Community and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-738 folder. If there is delete it.
  4. Go to C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsof t.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Package s\Community\ and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-738 folder if there is delete it
  5. Go to C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsof t.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SimObje cts\Airplanes and delete any PMDG 737-800XXX folders if they exist
  6. Go to C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsof t.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\Package s\ and make sure there is no pmdg-aircraft-738 folder if there is delete it.
  7. Go to C:\Users{username}\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsof t.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\package s and delete the PMDG-aircraft-738 directory
  8. Download a fresh copy and install again making sure you run the installer as administrator. Right click and select run as administrator.
  9. Reboot the PC after the installation
  10. After rebooting use the PMDG Operations Center to update the product.

The problem is that after you do all that, if you update navdata in Navigraph Hub before FIRST loading each updated aircraft in MSFS, you'll have to do it all over again.

THE MOST IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION FOR THIS PMDG UPDATE IS: DO NOT USE NAVIGRAPH HUB TO UPDATE NAVDATA FOR THE 73'S. After installing the PMDG update/s launch each model you own in MSFS and update navdata using the EFB - after you do that if you open Navigraph Hub you'll find the 73's no longer exist in Hub.

By not including an impossible-to-miss NOTAM with this update PMDG has created a support issue that didn't need to happen.

I did not update via the Navigraph Hub (which btw did not include the 737 after the 737 update from OC) There was a update to the Navigraph hup after i installed the PMDG update

Still doesnt work here - not bothering the whole reinstall now

I think I'm going to remove Navigraph data from the 737 using Hub before I install the update...

After flying with ifly 737 max, there is no way I could go back to the pmdg 737. it's so much better even in its "alpha" state

ON my second flight, no issues at all, AP working fine, tracking heading, no problems at all.

If that's what you think, you have no idea what a good 737 simulation looks like.

Did this and I am getting a CTD.  Flying out of EGSS with third party scenery.

Loving the new update. Breathed some new life into the 737. Doing a Southwest flight from ONT-OAK as we speak, working flawlessly.

The iFly 737 Max is starting to look better and better.

Just wait for the first update. I hope it will not ruin your PC as usual.

There is also people with 777 issue now so might be server related who knows

FWIW:  I have found that restarting the sim after installing Nav Data via the EFB resolves the spinning wheel that appears after installing and reloading plane. ALL my PMDG planes (entire fleet) now updated with new nav data format AND no spinning circles!

Haven't tried the 777 since the update, but the 737 is flying perfectly now. 😀

Everything installed OK here, but first attempt of a flight in the 738 I had a spinning wheel in the EFB.

The only thing that I had changed since I did the install was moving the plane out of the community folder and using Addon Linker.  I moved it back into the community folder and it loaded OK.

I wonder if some of the install issues might also be related...
