New PMDG update

Featured Replies

I did two flights in 737 700 and jumped back to 737 max. I must say the atmosphere around living metal beast right  away shines  with iFly. PMDG was a thing a year ago but today there is new knight in shiny armor - iFly.  PMDG must step up their game, but I’m not sure they can. They are in need right stuff IMHo

  • Indeed. I did a couple of flights tonight and had no real issues. The update is indeed a major improvement over what was already a great addon. There are a couple of minor nitpicks, but nothing that c

Well to be fair, I never said it was "across the board superior", I said "comparable", which was in response to you suggesting that if anyone thought the iFly approached the level of PMDG, they must n

Thanks for the follow up.

I only have the -600 and -700.

Both had stopped updating Navdata at 80%. Many reporting the same problem.

Uninstall / reinstall did not fix the problem.

Currently I have both Uninstalled / Installed to the basic level (fresh PMDG downloads) without Updating via the Ops Center.

Both work ok but the Navdata is back to Cycle 2204 and naturally do not have the current Update.

Stuck right there.

Trying really hard to find where it says iFly 737 MAX in the topic, but I can't find it. 😂

Yes, Ifly 737Max.

I do not have it.

Maybe others could add a few more post here about it.

Or a few follow up videos with additional comments.

So I gave the updated PMDG 737-900ER a go today. The sound of the internal cockpit and engines is just so amazingly subpar to what iFly and Fenix have. The extras that are not there that Fenix has is glaringly obvious. Fenix is just leagues better in just about all aspects. I literally said to myself, I’m wasting my time and just quit the sim about 10 minutes after taking off. I then completely deleted the PMDG stuff from my computer. With Fenix, iFly and now the upcoming FBW A380 and iniBuilds A350, I have no need for anything they make. They just don’t produce anything that I find interesting or immersive enough for me when compared to what else is available.

Or, there is always the Official PMDG forum to do an Ifly 737MAX user Poll.

i had  the  same  issue  with the  pmdg777   i had  to go  to  the  Nav hub  and  remove   the  cycle which  was still showing  there  and  than  updated  thru the  efb  and  than had no  issues after,  i noticed also   the  700  and  800  were  not  showing  in  nav  hub  so  they already  removed it except  for  the  pmdg777

I will look around tomorrow morning to see if I have any old stuff lingering .

I have been flying PMDG Boeings for more than a decade. Never have I see such rock solid LNAV behavior.  Very Noticeable, especially in sweeping turns. Again, for me, best ever and ever is a long time!

100% mirroring my experience.

And it hand-flies beautifully to boot. Just did my favorite Itami Turn approach in Osaka, and it was a dream.

My first experience with the latest update was a disaster. After many restarts, reloads, etc, was totally unable to use the 736. Nothing reacted to controller input. I then read on the PMDG forums, that many times that happens and they suggested, totally wipe clean all install files of AC from storage. Reinstall with Admin privileges and restart computer.

I performed suggested activities deleting all files in "Packages",  user/appdata/Steam/etc and the Ops Center folders.

I reinstalled with Admin priv, restarted computer and MSFS and amazingly: Everything worked fine and have noticed an improvement not only in ground handling, but in LNAV as well. Unlike some on the forum, my track deviation was absolutely minimal. I do not have Navigraph so I didn't experience the update issue. I'm enjoying  hand flying and flying the "magenta line" in the 736 very much; particularly short fields. Excellent improvement.

Was looking forward to a few short sectors in the 737 today, but having read this thread, I'll stick with Fenix until they release an update to fix the update.

Did two short flights in the end and had no issues.  Loving the EFB Navigraph update function

Until they decided to remove it from EXISTING ac that is.

Except that they did not. Just follow the steps in their manual and you have the "PMDG-mouse" behavior back.
