After flying with ifly 737 max, there is no way I could go back to the pmdg 737. it's so much better even in its "alpha" state

Certain eye candy aspects, sure. To say that it's systems modeling is better than the PMDG 737 at this point is a stretch. I'm sure it will improve with coming updates.

  • Indeed. I did a couple of flights tonight and had no real issues. The update is indeed a major improvement over what was already a great addon. There are a couple of minor nitpicks, but nothing that c

Well to be fair, I never said it was "across the board superior", I said "comparable", which was in response to you suggesting that if anyone thought the iFly approached the level of PMDG, they must n

  • You are just spending your time flying, not bashing, that's why. 😉

I cannot update the OC as requested. Bad update process planning by PMDG.

I’ve been flying the ifly 737 now in VR for 2 weeks… it is awesome, very immersive in VR for sure especially on take off… I’ll update my PMDG 737 and give it do anyway. … I love their 777

Is more performance hungry than PMDG 737 or Fenix? I also fly in VR, with Quest 2. But as soon as I add BATC to inject traffic (in this case FSTraffic models), fps tanks a lot, even by 50%. There is no way I can taxi to the runway without huge stuttering, as FPS was even lower than 36fps (72hz/2).

Current system: ASUS PRIME Z690-P D4, Intel 12900k, 32GB RAM @ 3600mhz, Zotac RTX 3090 Trinity, M2 SSD, Oculus Quest 2.

I don't want to be a massive word not allowed, but I am.  Ditch BATC and get FSHud v2 (it's in Alpha).  Very light on performance, and it actually controls traffic like an ATC should.

If I remember correctly, FS Hud was the app that ate FPS. Anyway,  don't see what that has to do with the PMDG update??

It was a massive hog before Version 2 came out, and now I have 50 planes chilling at the gate, lines of planes on final at EGLL.  It has nothing to do with the update but I thought I'd respond to his inquiry.  Moving on.

Ok, I'm trying to update the navdata in the tablet of the 737-700 but it's stuck at 0%. Now I begin to wonder: Is this even something everyone should do, or just those that have Navigraph subscription?

My simming system: AMD Ryzen 5800X3D, 32GB RAM, RTX 4070 Ti Super 16GB, LG 38" 3840x1600

Before I did anything I opened Navigraph HUB and the PMDG option was gone.

I installed the update with the updated ops centre and then loaded her up. The AIRAC updated fine from the EFB, Navigraph charts were working, and I was good to go (except I had to quit to put the legacy mouse settings back...)

Ok, then I don't need to update... Good to know!

Still it should show some kind of message instead of just being stuck at downloading...

Curious, when you look at the EFB now, does it tell you you are up to date as far as Navigraph data?

Yes you have to install navdata. After install it you will see only option is "uninstall" which means you have it

The iFly is definitely better on performance than the Fenix. Almost as good as the PMDG 737.

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.
