I really don't understand the comments of the Airbus being like flying a computer, for me I can leave the autopilot engaged at least as much in the 737 or 777. The main difference in workload for me comes from the fact you don't have to constantly trim the aircraft. After years of flying the Boeing's I am now loving the difference with the Airbus's... I used to learn how to fly the 738 Zibo in X-Plane, then I was forced to switch on Airbus when 2020 came out with the A32NX since there was no decent Boeing at that time, then switched to the PMDG 737 again when it came out. I always preferred flying Boeing because I actually have the feeling to be a pilot, not an engineer. I think it is due to the lack of fly-by-wire systems in Boeing planes. Airbuses are too "easy" to fly in a way. Now, with 2024, we will get the Max, the 747 and the C-17, but a LOT of very qualitative Airbuses : A320, A321, A310, A330, the Beluga and the A400M! Historically, flying Airbus or Boeing was mostly about personal preferences but I begin to think it will be smarter to switch again to Airbus because of all the diversity of missions that will be instantly available with those default aircrafts. I know I have not enough time to master both Boeing and Airbus so I will have to make a choice. Although, I don't know about the C-17 and the A-400M, they seem to have fairly different systems and overlays than their liner counterparts. What are your thoughts about it? Why are you seeking thoughts for these aircraft as they relate to MSFS2024. The game hasn't even released in it's final form yet! Seeking someone's "thoughts" will be much more pertinent once 2024 releases!

Or even just if you set up a raw data approach in a gusty crosswind. I never really felt those were easier in an FBW Airbus than in a Boeing. Rather than "Airbus or Boeing", the more pertinent question to me is "which Airbus and which Boeing"? On the Boeing side specifically, despite the commonalities in philosophy, there are significant differences between older and newer designs. I used to fly the 737 a lot, but really I liked the Classics the best - on the NG and the MAX, the clunky overhead seems kind of incongruous next to the glass displays. If I want old school, I want to go all the way, and so the 737s that are on offer in MSFS don't appeal to me that much any more. OTOH, the 777 and in particular the 787 feel a bit too modern. The 757 and 767 hit the Boeing sweet spot for me, so I'm really looking forward to the Bluebird offerings.

November 8, 20241 yr I think I'm "current" on: S tier: 737NG/MAX (as a 737 simulator instructor for RW airline.) A tier: 737CL/OG, 777, A319~340. (Have access to realworld manuals and doing realworld recurrent drill on desktop sim regularly) B tier: 744/8, 757/767, A306/A310, PC12, C172.... (Have access to manuals "found online", occasionally doing some training scenario.) C tier: 742, 727, 717, 787, MD80, MD11, CONC, A350, A380, Kingair, Tu154 Bell206, Bo105, F16.... (Have access to manuals "found online", knows basic system and operation, can fly A-B with realworld SOP) D tier: ERJ, EJets, CRJ, Q400, DC3, Bae146/RJ, Dassault Mercure....( Have some manuals maybe fragmented, can fly A-B confidently, sometimes it's due to not good enough sim software available.) F tier: A220, ATR, 707, Tu134.... (Not really tried, or not tried at all.) Edited November 8, 20241 yr by C2615
