I think I'll fly a helicopter from LJLJ to the city of Ljubljana, my home town and just enjoy the sights.

I'll do a short hop from LJLJ to the Julian Alps, make a turn around Triglav and head back to LJLJ via Bled. 🫣

I spent 8 days in Slovenia this past September and had a wonderful time. We went partly to see the small village (VERY small village) that my great grandparents were from (they left in 1914 before the war and moved to the US). Before and after that trip I've spent a bit of time flying there in the sim, as well. Such a beautiful place and we felt very welcome!

I'll look at familiar territory so a take-off from Biggin Hill then a sight-seeing tour around south east England and the Channel.

That's very nice to hear. I'm glad you had a nice time.

A330 first keeping the sim clean until compatibility issues are resolved. I simply dont trust what 2020 scenery etc has thats going to work.

I think I‘ll just check out various places and the new features before I do a proper flight. One of the first places I‘ll visit is the Alps in VR.

I spent a week out in Slovenia in 2019. Lake Bled, really beautiful out there! I was there in March, cold but clear.

I think I may try and see what my old home town of Johannesburg looks like in this version. I flew a lot out there when I was hour building, so will be fun to see if it looks better than 2020! Apparently FAOR from Inibuilds should work pretty soon. Not sure about my other SA airports from Gaffersim though.

I take the Cabri to the "Oirschotse heide". It's a Dutch low flying zone for helicopters and is totally flat in 2020. I made a custom scenery for it and I hope it will work in 2024 if it is still flat in that new sim.

Don't get too excited about doing anything right away. You know the servers are going to crash hard. It will be a few days before anyone does anything except watch their download screen. JMHO. Don't be sad, mad or shocked when it happens. Just be patient.

I don't think there will be an in-sim download like 2020. But that's just based off the Tech Alpha, which of course wasn't finished.

Also 2024 is only 30 or 50 GB, it's not that big.

Same here: take off from EGKB and then Touch & Go at EGLC and landing at EGLL to see how things are looking like for greater London 😉

It's always been my inaugural flight for every civilian sim I've ever had.

Can't wait to try the all the new prop birds!

Low and slow over my home city of Tucson Arizona, so I can be either be extremely excited over the fact the flora looks correct or disappointed they have messed it up again.

EDFM-EDEW

that was my first cross country flight in a rusty c152 back in the days.

A pattern around SACO, another one around SKBG, and another one (this time in the A332) around KMIA. Hope ground textures aren't as blurry as what I saw in the Alpha 🙏🏻

Lossless Scaling for all my sims. What a godsend...

Mobile rig: ASUS Zenbook UM425QA (AMD Ryzen 7 5800H APU @3.2 GHz and boost disabled, 1 TB M.2 SSD, 16 GB RAM, Windows 11 Pro). Running FS9 there .

VKB Gladiator NXT Premium Left + GNX THQ as primary controllers. Xbox Series X|S wireless controller as standby/mobile.

Mindful of MSFS 2020 persistent log book…

I planned on working myself up from the 152 or 172 for a while building time before moving up progressively to bigger aircraft.

So, my first flight is likely to be a pattern at my home airport KVDF…

It's probably just going to be the first flight of the career on the Cessna 172 departing from Chofu airport near Tokyo.

This time around I have no review constraints, so I can take it easy and enjoy the career for a while, which will likely serve as a good introduction for the new features and aircraft.
