I'll look at familiar territory so a take-off from Biggin Hill then a sight-seeing tour around south east England and the Channel.

Nothing strange about it. Sounds like fun!

What I love about 2024 is knowing that I'll have access to a ton of really good default planes. Never experienced a sim launch like that before.

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

Same as always, getting the default non-G1000 Cessna 172 and fly around my hometown, check out my house, then my girlfriends house and then probably make a tour of some vacation spots I've been to this year.

I'll probably do this too!

For every new Flight Simulator have a series of flights that will allow me to gauge how the rest of it will turn out.  These flights are odd and only make sense to me but is surprisingly accurate (in my deranged mind at least).  At first I keep everything default and will hop in one of the default aircraft and fly Seattle to Reno Nevada.  Its a quick 1.5 hour flight for most aircraft.  I can quickly see my hometown city and the surrounding terrain I know very well for accuracy.  In route I can see the detail of other mountains and terrain I also know very well.  The approach into Reno being in a valley surrounded by mountains is interesting.  Flown it many times for reals and so I know the area well.  Downtown Reno being the largest little city in the world allows me to gauge just how serious the developers are with a city like this.  Until recently I was always a bit disappointed but FS2020 really came close.

Another route I usually do is I do Bergen Norway to Tromso Norway.  Norway has been neglected pretty heavily in the past and even in FS2020 it was not great but improved over previous sims.  Usually 3rd party developers pick this beautiful region up pretty quickly.

Usually last thing I do is fly around the Hawaiian Islands.  In previous sims Hawaii did not disappoint much and was about as good as can be expected for those generation of sims but FS2020 Hawaii never really looked super great in my opinion.  3rd party developers mostly fixed it but default was disappointing for sim like FS2020.  Sadly hopefully the Apha build was old data but Hawaii in FS2024 did not look great either!

The Carenado Saab 340 (P3D) was kinda one of my favourites. Curious about the Asobo version.

My plan is to fly routes that youtubers do in 2024 but in 2020 to see how much has really changed. Looking forward to finding some new spots and if turns out its loads better than 2020 i might purchase. My feeling is it won't be that different for a casual flightsimmer that doesn't care for career modes.

I have good news for you then. The FS24 Saab 340 is in fact being done by Carenado with the new UNS-1 from WorkingTitle.

Ever since I watched this video that was posted in the hanger chat section I’ve been intrigued, it just looks so much fun and is so raw compared to the boring RW airliner stuff I do.

I was very pleased and surprised when I saw it on the list of new aircraft available.

I’m planning on firing up the Asobo 737 Max on the runway at Exeter just to see what it’s like and then depending on the weather, It’s going to be either Stanstead to Farnborough or Tromso to Bergen.

The aircraft will undoubtedly be a Carenado. Either the Saab or the PC12…..

I plan on taking delivery from Microsoft/Asobo, need to find out what airport is close to Microsoft headquarters and fly to my home airport of KPBI in the PMDG 738.

I think I'll fly a helicopter from LJLJ to the city of Ljubljana, my home town and just enjoy the sights.

I'll do a short hop from LJLJ to the Julian Alps, make a turn around Triglav and head back to LJLJ via Bled. 🫣

I'll start up the G36 Bonanza at my home airport of CYCD Nanaimo, and head south to overfly my house and see if they fixed the shorelines around Genoa Bay, landing at CYYJ Victoria International.

Then, I'll use Addons Linker to add my Nanaimo and Victoria airports, and repeat the flight. 🙂
