November 20, 20241 yr odd LTFM is missing, it was there in the Tech Alpha. Anyone found any wildlife yet? I'm currently searching, I asked on the official discord and at least one person said they have.

At that time we were were talking T1 and T2 etc. lines. High speed lines. An engineer explained it this way. Think of a big pipe (Faster speed) connected to smaller pipes. When the data in the big pipe gets to the smaller pipe the transfer rate slows to the speed of each smaller pipe. So you can pump out large packets of data through the big pipe till it gets to the size of each smaller pipe. Microsoft being the big pipe and us being the smaller pipes. My internet download speed is 1000Mbps. I'm still seeing the same results as many of you. This is not to be considered an excuse for Microsoft poor download execution. Just my personal thoughts. To add to that, I read years ago that data goes through in packets, as you stated. Then when finished it verifies it to see if it all came though. Then the packets that are missing are resent and then varification is complete. My belief is that occurs at the 97% point. The servers are overloaded with thousands of request for these additional packets. i7-10700 CPU @2.90 GHz, 32 GB Ram, nVadia GTX1660ti, Samsung 1 TB SSD Drive

Whether they are better than the 2020 payware, I don't think so. Also, the traffic movements are a little much. Here are some screenshots at KDEN, showing traffic jams due to planes being too close to each other. this is with real time traffic data only. On the other side of the airfield, the conga line of planes were really close to each other.

No, not at all, but it's a lot better than what Asobo made for the launch of 2020 lol How about KATL? I’m still a few months away from getting MS2024 but curious nonetheless if they redid ATL. Eric
November 20, 20241 yr BlackBox711 just said he likes the new flight model (737Max) 5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX 9070XT.
November 20, 20241 yr Starting late last night Pacific Time and also this AM, the time it takes MSFS2024 to bootup is always about exactly 3 minutes, give or take 5 seconds. Every time. Faster than fs2020 which took about 5 and quarter minutes for me. All the Aviator addons are in the "Library" when it boots up. EDIT: I had the same long waits as you all when 2024 first released yesterday, over an hour and sometimes it never booted. Those issues are gone now. November 20, 20241 yr Tried it on game pass. It's an absolute failure at a user experience level. UI, loading, the way it installs, everything is anti consumer. Waited 50 minutes at the creation screen so turned it off. Restarted it again and the whole cycle restarted again. This hands down must be one of the worst design decisions in gaming. It makes Forza and Cyberpunk a cakewalk. SO does it have to install language and everything else on each load? Really? Edited November 20, 20241 yr by Ant1975uk
November 20, 20241 yr I think what has happened here is that they built MSFS 2020 as a PC sim available on XBOX. This is an XBOX game designed from UI to silly gamey add ons but also available on PC. They wanted to drag more people into its world on XBOX thus sell more units, this is why it was made and why it is clearly designed mainly for XBOX. It will shift more consoles for sure, many who didn't get MSFS 2020 on XBOX will by a percentage be new customers and blown away by it all. I was of an opinion that if i didn't own MSFS 2020 I'd get 24... now i reckon i'd start with MSFS 2020. A lot of the PG on streams is looking total gash compared to mine in MSFS 2020. November 20, 20241 yr My impression was that there is WAY more tree coverage everywhere than I remember in 2020. The trees generally look better, but there are simply far too many of them.

Well they've done a word not allowed job because 2020 struggled and this struggles. They are doing the job of turning gamers away from xbox.
