Bob & Mods, you know it's ok to reverse decisions right? You don't have to stick to your guns right? So if we don't get a viable reason as to why we can't have separate forums (the cost question still not answered) then just do it please for the sake of your community here.

The reasons have been explained in the posts above, common sense needs to prevail, thanks.

It's just an ego issue at this point sadly.

So you buy a new car and patiently wait they finish building the thing before you can actually use it, is that the way people are supposed to think nowadays?

That is not comparing apples to apples.

A more accurate example would be buying a car that breaks down, and it takes the dealer several attempts to fix it - not an ideal situation, but it happens when purchasing an advanced product.

It would be incredibly easy and actually a good long term strategy to perform an entire 'spring clean' on the AVSIM forum structure especially now the software used to manage and display it has been updated. There are countless historical forums here that are effectively 'dead' getting no new threads/posts for years that could be moved into an archive, still active but not taking top level resources up.

I'd suggests supporters of separate threads stick to logical arguments and suggestions in this discussion. Just throwing down casual insults at administration will absolutely get us nowhere and accelerate the (almost) inevitable lock down.

A separate 2024 forum would be good in my opinion, but Im not the boss

AVSIM reconsider

I agree, please make a separate 2024 forum...It JUST makes sense...

I completely agree but the pushback from moderators etc on here was evident "No, Virginia, there will not be a separate etc" There should have been a 2024 separate forum this entire time for those of us that are sticking to 2020 for the next several months. Otherwise, the 2020/2024 forum is inundated with 2024 posts of "Can't do this anymore!"  "The UI sucks!"   "Can anyone help me etc?"  Instead of keeping them apart. Makes it easier to manage what I am looking for in 2020. Hey, can we finally get a separate forum for 2024?

MSFS 2024 feels more like an expansion of 2020 than a new sim. If there isn't different P3D version forums then we surely don't need separate 2020/2024 forums.

Simply tag your thread with 2020/2024 and call it a day...most of these 2024 threads are simply cries for attention and useless wastes of bandwidth.

One big toilet for most of these 2020/2024 threads is pretty sufficient.

Tag your threads appropriately, embrace and acknowledge......
