Good find.  That makes sense.  Yeah my semi high end PC comes to a crawl.

I don't understand why they don't release a small patch. It has been confirmed that they have already fixed it.

Likewise - i'm currently asking myself the same question.

It's difficult to know if it's related to the known leak issue or whether 32GB just isn't going to be enough.

I've been flying in and out of London without any real stuttering but have noticed i'm getting some stutters at some small 2020 addon airports - so I might wait for each of these (or some any way) to be optimised for 2024 before i throw any more at my sim.

Seems like 2024 is barely half optimized. You can throw 128gb at it, and it will still chew it. 

I made a similar post weeks ago. The ram usage is why I upgraded to 64 gigs. 2024 itself pulls almost 20 and if you run any addons it really spikes. MSFS 2024, GSX and FSHUD running at the same time pushed me to almost 50 several times. 
 

once I upgraded my ram a lot of the issues I had disappeared. 

Question is:  How the heck does this run at all on the Xbox with 8gb of system ram?

It doesn't run well from what I've seen.

But there's not a many addons on Xbox.

I concur I switched from 32gb to 64gb a few days ago and so far it made a noticeable difference in eliminating much of the micro stuttering. With settings maxed I'm consistently utilizing in excess of 32gb of memory.

At this point though I see no need for anything more than 64gb because it hasn't come close to utilizing 64gb yet.

I've never seen anything use much more than 32GB.  It's annoying that this likely won't be fixed and we have to resort to throwing money at the problem.  Thankfully RAM isn't too bad.  It's cheaper than when I bought in/after covid.  2x32 GB ddr5 6000mhz with 30-36-36-76 goes for 215 off amazon right now.  Otherwise if I go cheaper I can get 2x32GB at 5600mhz cas 40 for like 160.  Do we have any stats on MSFS and RAM timings?

I don't right now. I would have to rerun some tests again.

Ryan, I am confused (as usual).  How can it show 43GB in use, when you only have 32GB on your machine?

Is it adding in swapped mem like to a paging file or something?

At FlightBeam KMSP, Fenix A321, cockpit view: 32GB system RAM in use. 18GB by MSFS. 4K ultra settings. 

With FSHud (10 active, 47 parked) and Active Sky: 38GB. 

I did some tests in MSFS2020 32GB vs 64GB. Overall the sim ran smoother with a slight increase in FPS.

What feature do you use to display the system usage?

Please post your findings here. I’ve been experimenting and reporting with the hopes that they fix their VRAM issues.

This is really more of an informative post if you are considering using 2020 addons in 2024.  I'm not sure which addons make this happen but I ran both FlightBeam KMSP and Xwind KGRB on this flight.  Landing at KGRB was a stutter fest.  Asobo wasn't kidding when they recommended 64GB ram.

FWIW my RTX4080 is also vram saturated!

 

I didn't know Flightbeam KMSP was 2024 compatible. Last I looked at their website they said none of their sceneries were ready for 2024.
