December 28, 20241 yr I still don't own 2024. I guess maybe some time in 2025... Let's see how it develops.

Turns out nothing but praises coming from only one segment of the FS market, the 2D one panel crowd (which is not good).🤔 Those using VR, alternative devices, multiple screens, and XBOX in some cases it's a whole other story with 2024. Perhaps your source of data is rather narrow, take for instance the Discord servers for all the casual gamer types, I struggle to find a single one (I know most) that has not wholeheartedly embraced 2024 and dumped 2020. So very much at odds with your view. Clearly what we see depends very much on where we look. Just to be clear I say all this as someone with no intention of buying 2024 at the present time

When 2020 came out, it was so far advanced from what was available at the time, that people stuck with it for the most part. Not the same story with 2024, because people have a good sim available to fly (2020) , while waiting for 2024 to move out of the Alpha stage. Edited December 28, 20241 yr by Bobsk8

January 2, 20251 yr The gap is widening, whilst this only shows Steam players I think it's pretty obvious the general trend is players returning to 2020 after they've given 2024 a go over Xmas. Whenever the next Patch or first Sim Update drops it'll be interesting to see the potential switch around in numbers, should MS/Asobo "fix enough" to warrant players going back too and sticking with 2024 that is. January 2, 20251 yr It is intersting how much the two paths have the same peaks and valleys, just different data points.

January 2, 20251 yr I wonder why, since Asobo has to know exactly many users are using 2020 and 2024, why they don't publish that info, so that we don't have to guess at it by using polls on Avsim and Steam statistics.?
January 2, 20251 yr I am using both and only do free flight. For Jets I see very little difference and have been using FS2020. For VFR, 2024 seems better, just did a comparison flight around Cape Town and 2024 is so much better. Biggest issue for me is I am on a now 7 year old computer so 2024 performance is not great.
