Pretty much entirely server based and you are therefore at the mercy of the Server and the internet. Enjoy !

Fully aware that I'm going against the popular rhetoric to bash the cloud streaming model here but honestly if the menu system is that slow and laggy for you that it is running at 2fps and then crashe

No. The interface, UI, menus, executable code, base data, etc are all executed and stored locally. In fact, no sim code at all is executed in the cloud. However, content is streamed. In MSFS 2020

Can't wait to hear how this story ends.

It was already depicted in The Matrix. AI takes over and you become the cloud.

I get this too, at EGLL, KLAX, probably other large hubs as well.

You mean suddenly popping in objects in front of you like 10meters? Even with olod at 200?

Yeah I hate this. Never had this in 2020. But in 2024it is driving me nuts. Taxing to runway or landing and see as things / parts of airport are suddenly slowly popping in  before my plane...

I meant stutters on final. I've sort of "resolved" the object popping issue by setting OLOD to... ahem 1000. Yeah it sounds crazy - but it doesn't affect performance that much.

When MFS hits a rough patch in their entertainment division and they want to shed ballast to make up the numbers for their shareholders, we'll all be beating our chests as has already happened with other cloud services, if I look at you Google Stadia.

Desearía que su sim tuviera 3000 usuarios simultáneos ahora mismo jajaja

Only On Steam  there are daily peaks of 2000 users between xp11 and xp12.

He wishes his sim had 3000 concurrent users right now lol

Welcome back 🤗 - the dreaded "sales figures/users argument". Maybe it's only me, but I'd rather drive a Porsche (few owners) than a rusty Dodge (many owners) 😁. Over and out.

While I agree the users argument/sales figures is a bit beaten at this point. I don’t see how you can write up this comparison and think it makes any sense at all. What are you even trying to say here 😂?

Also who cares what the sales figures are - I don’t make more money if a sim sells more or less. (Obviously the companies that make them care, but they are just companies. They aren’t my friends or family!)

What I care about is that it sells enough so that it’s not cancelled and is around for a long time.

The two big sims definitely meet that, so does DCS. P3D not sure anymore but that’s anyway built for the defense industry so likely will be around forever.

It's the usual self-consolation mechanism to make themselves feel better about their pet sim not being as popular as MSFS... i.e that lesser quality products are cheaper and the masses buy them therefore greater usage #s. This argument is wildly comical for many obvious reasons, but the most obvious is that price wise MSFS and other sim platforms are all similar 😆

The same group who employ this logic also hate MSFS due to its market dominance and desperately cling to the hope that 2024's bugginess means the downfall of the MSFS franchise... It doesn't, 2020 is still there, and once 2024's bugs are fixed then its many advancements will just increase adoption even more (these advancements are already able to be experienced in free flight by those of us not seeing the bugginess as severe as some others).

I certainly don't.  My sales have spiked since 2024 came out, from people who choose to use both, and don't adopt the fanatical tribalism some others choose to employ.

It's great that some people choose to use multiple platforms. But it's ironic (in more ways than one) you mention fanatical tribalism.. the ones making comical arguments like the Dodge vs Porsche above, and those supporting said argument, usually tend to fall into that category 😃

It's an analogy.  You made an unprovoked, collective character attack...

If his comment makes you so upset, question him, directly, on it.
I'm quitting this before it turns into another pointless MSFS vs X-Plane clown show.

Lol sure thing.. Na, as much as you'd like to characterize it as such, not upset at his "analogy", just found it predictably funny 😃. I suppose you found it worthy to respond still, thanks for taking the time!
