My only real demerits towards 2024 so far are the disastrous premier, and the fact that Inibuilds planes, despite the companies insider status as a developer of base aircraft, (!) somehow managed (and was allowed to!) create and release "headliner" planes that routinely crash the sim.

 

iniBuilds has mastered the productivity by hiring traditional game devs to do FS development, but dating all the way back to their entry into aircraft in XP11, the quality control has always been an issue. The A300 for MSFS is a wonderful example - patch fixes 5 bugs, breaks VNAV, next patch fixes VNAV but breaks holds and DTOs, next patch fixes that and some bugs and performance, but breaks VNAV again.

It's a consistent pattern, it'd be nice to see them break out of it a little better.

I will keep MS2020 and (FSX) on my 4TB hardrive to do some somewhat serious siming, but if I wanted to start gaming siming on buggy software I would switch to MS2024 today but I don't want to go through the frustrations of mediocre (server reliant) software as it is not worth the time to waste dealing with it.

So we that use 2024 are just gaming and people using 2020 are  seriously simming, guess I prefer gaming then:)

No serious simmers use P3D or X-Plane and as I said MS2020 is somewhat serious simming and MS2024 is for sight seeing casual flying but fly what you want. MS2024 may get there is 2 years.

Even as someone who as I mentioned earlier is flying a predominantly Hardware based setup in 2020 some of the comments here from both sides are amusing.  

People should of never removed it especially this early in MSFS24 life.

I was cautiously optimistic going into it (I had hoped this was more like a service pack) but the "everything is streaming" thing is a bit of a leap for me - and I work for an ISP! I should love this! I think they just leaned way too far into the thin client concept.

I was an Alpha tester for FS2020, so yeah... it's not being moved off my machine any time soon. I remember the state it was in then, and it feels like FS2024 is where 2020 was in its 2nd or 3rd beta build.

Haha yes I like to simulate world that looks like Minecraft when I fly...

These types of threads should be immediately locked.

All we see are the usual suspects reappearing and grandstanding about how much they hate 2024, how they have deleted it from their systems blah, blah - fine, we get - we understand - you hate it, there is no need to keep reminding everyone.

Take your venting over to the MSFS forums.

Then serious simming sounds really boring, I’ll stick with gaming then, thank you. Hope I never get serious and crazy enough to go back too plausible worlds and blade element theory’s, I will rather stick with CFD and realistic looking worlds:)

To the contrary we've never heard any vague assertions it was going anywhere.   

I still have 2020 installed but fly exclusively in 2024 these days.

Yes some of the outstanding bugs and issues annoy me, but for me, the improvement in other areas of the sim offset these and allow me to tolerate these bugs in the short term.
