The latest DLSS+DLAA+FRAMEGEN still a no go for me

Featured Replies

I've upgraded to the latest DLSS 4 for my RTX 3090 and when flying the Fenix, the altitude counter is still blurry. It's slightly better, but still no major improvements. TAA with AutoFPS mod is still better for me. I was really looking forward to using DLSS this time but unfortunately they still have some work to do.

  • Same. TAA is still way better.

  • Not really. I fly the Fenix a lot and with a 4090 on 4k 77in OLED TV in HDR, latest drivers using DLSS4 with DLSS-DLAA set in side MSFS which means no downscaling, the numbers on the glass panel are s

  • No ghosting? Have you tried flying the Fenix A32x or PMDG 777/737 and could prove to me that the numbers on the altitude tape don't ghost when climbing/descending rapidly?

Have you also made the change in the NVIDIA App to have DLSS use the latest version?

Now to do that?

I noticed that Cyberpunk 2077 (a graphically 'heavy' game) has a patch including dlss 4 support included. It's sat in my library unplayed for weeks so I thought I'd finally give it a go. Booted up, selected the max dlss auto settings and pressed the RUN BENCHMARK button.

Instant CTD. Using 4090 here. The technology is still in its infancy imo there will be much user tweaking before it's stable. I'm watching with interest from the sidelines before I start manually opting in to it.

If it doesn't work for you, don't use it. Simple. If you are using 2024 then wait for SU2 when DLSS4 will be officially supported and try again then.

On my 3090 DLSS3 is far superior to TAA with no ghosting at all but if it wasn't good I simply wouldn't use it.

Yup, using the latest version. I've used DLSS swapper and nvidia profile inspector to use the latest Preset K as well.

Altitude and speed tape, chrono when running, basically everything changing rapidly on the PFD or MFD. So yes, for me too, TAA still way better.

Let me know if you see the same ghosting in my videos I linked?  I find it greatly reduced with DLSS4 and LS combined...  I'm hard pressed to really expect it to be much sharper but I'm also at that age I suddenly need glasses to read or I am blind LOL  But those pics and videos are DLSS4 with Lossless doing the Frame Generation and 60FPSx2 so 120 rendered for pretty smooth flying as well.

No Ghosting? I have the same card and still getting it

I also call bs. I tried it and the ghosting, while reduced is still visible. TAA remains the better option. Especially if you are VRAM limited, because DLSS eats up far more of your VRAM than TAA.

You know you can run FG with TAA? I still get 80+ FPS and 50+ PMDG/FENIX

during the day the only ghosting I notice is on the altitude and speed tape but it's less blurry than it was with DLSS3, but at night I get ghosting in exterior views everywhere

Watched a YT vid a while ago that suggested Preset J. Have you tried that? I have no idea how all this magic works so I'm just parroting what I saw.
