MSFS 2020 has become so unstable

572.16 is not the latest. 572.24 is. And there are reports it helped msfs2024, not sure if 572.24 did anything for 2020.

I don't usually change to the latest driver, unless there's an absolute demonstrated advantage.  No crashes today, for instance.

  • You cannot chose which server you connect to for streaming content. The “server” option is only for multiplayer - it has no other purpose, and if you do not use multiplayer, then changing the “server”

  • I am still using 2020, and am finding it working really well. Smooth flights, no stutters. At the moment it meets all my requirements.

  • Absolut no issues with MSFS2020, best Flightsimulator at the moment i ever had in use ! cheers 😉

Yup, with GPU drivers, my motto for many years is, " If it ain't broke don't fix it"

I believe it is a hotfix driver but I have no issues with 572.16 personally.

2024 is running great on 572.24. I'm going to try 2020 right now. I bet is won't perform with as smoothly as 2024.

2024 very stable. 2020 is a mess (unstable) today. I'm not sure what is wrong. I guess I'll have to do like some of you all above are doing.

What server?  I started a flight on the NE US servers 9 hours ago (3 to go) with no performance or stability issues.

Or you could fix your PC,, 😉

Put all your graphics settings back to default in the sim, and clear your rolling cache, and then see how you go on from there.

Changes in graphics setting over time may screw up the stability of a sim.☺️  (by the user)

3 computer crashes today. Blaming you PC when MSFS misbehaves is silly.

Very frustrating sometimes.

MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

I've no crashes, but every couple minutes a stutter for about 1 or 2 seconds. It messes up VR tracking. But none in 2024, only 2020.

It always seems to work that way.  You are wrong because it is always frustrating as I messed with hardware for years.  The idea that MSFS misbehaves is not silly but unlikely.  The reason is METRICS.

BTW, almost all of my sim crashes were due to memory.  Buy an OC'd GPU if you need it but best just to go with MSFS 2024 which fixes the main core block.

I had loading issues with MSFS2020 after upgrading to 572.16 and 572.24.  I could occasionally get into the sim but it would often permanently hang when loading a flight and occasionally CTD.  Running a 13900k and 4090.

After going back and forth with some trial and error I found the problem for me to be the newest version of the Nvidia app.

As of now I have reverted to an older driver and the previous version of the Nvida app and have had no issues.  Hopefully they will release a more stable version soon, there were slight improvements to performance with DLSS4.

Also on 572.24 + DLSS 4 and up to now no issues - Netherlands

Since I have been unable to get MSFS2024 to load maybe changing servers might help.

How do I change servers?

Am I the only person who ONLY uses the ultra stable STUDIO drivers for my nvidia card and not the regular 'beta' updates that the gaming community needs for its never ending fps world record attempts?

I've almost never had a sim crash from any driver I've installed. I can't actually remember a single gpu crash in msfs but I said almost to be safe.
