As a boss I used to say  "it's software, it can  do one thing today and something else tomorrow, because someone touched it"

  • You cannot chose which server you connect to for streaming content. The “server” option is only for multiplayer - it has no other purpose, and if you do not use multiplayer, then changing the “server”

  • I am still using 2020, and am finding it working really well. Smooth flights, no stutters. At the moment it meets all my requirements.

  • Absolut no issues with MSFS2020, best Flightsimulator at the moment i ever had in use ! cheers 😉

Flew multiple flights this weekend with absolutely no issues.  2020 is smooth as can be and I’d argue looking the best it’s looked in a long time.

I also have no issues with 2020, it's smooth as butter.

CPU: 7800X3D | RAM: 64GB G.Skill Trident Z Neo CL32 | Mobo: Gigabyte Aorus Elite AX GPU: Gigabyte RTX 4090 OC

I did a flight in MD11 last night 900 miles over 2 hours real time in MSFS 2020 and no issues for me either.

Check your community folder for any outdated addons/mods, this happened to me few months back until I was able to track the source of the problem - An outdated mod.

Past 3 years of flawless enjoyable flights in MSFS 2020 from GA to Airliners, now every flight ends in CTD, thinking it might be the latest Nvidia 572.16 driver, I rolled it back but still, the same problem exists. I don't have the this issue in MSFS 2024. Eventviewer tells me  that Flight simulator.exe is the culprit ("Faulting module path: C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_1.38.2.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\FlightSimulator.exe")

Is anyone having this problem in 2020 and can anyone offer a fix.

If you are using navigraph make sure it is updated. I believe others were having crashes until they updated it.

Average 2-3 flights a day with A Pilots Life V2 and 2020, no issues at all.

No issues here either. Smoothest its ever been actually. I normally update my drivers as soon as a new one drops but things are running so well at the moment that I haven't tempted fate and gone to the latest, just in case.

B450 Tomahawk Max / Ryzen 7 5800x3D / RTX 3060ti 8G / Noctua NH-UI21S Max Cooling / 32G Patriot RAM / 1TB NVME / 450G SSD / Thrustmaster TCA & Throttle Quadrant / Xiaomi 32" Wide Curved Monitor 1440p 144hz

2020 running as good as ever. Running the 566.36 NV driver and DLSS 3.7.10.0. No way am I upgrading to the half baked DLSS “4” and even less baked 572.16 in all its hotfix “glory”. Oh, and the NV App is just crudware.

Sometimes, when I read these forums, I wish you could all come see my PC running MSFS…. liquid smooth, no stutters, native FG and DLSS 0.85 ULTRA quality and ZERO ghosting on speed tape or anywhere else, in 4K glory. Always happy to share my settings IF your system resembles mine.

In a nutshell, MSFS is as good as it ever has been.

I have had a few MSFS application crashes lately.  Since this was mentioned in another post, I am running DX12 on an Nvidia 3090.  I did not run into the sim startup crash, only inflight crashes.  I suspect my issues were related to Nvidia drivers -- or at least they were video related problems of some form or another.  I don't recall the specific driver release numbers but in the first crash, screen went dark for a few seconds and when my desktop reappeared MSFS was gone.  Interestingly, in that first crash it appears the entire driver was removed by windows because I had to reinstall the driver in order to get my screen desktop resolution back to normal.  Two more crashes since then, each with the next driver released.  Now on the most recent game driver no crashes (but I also have not had time to fly much the last couple of weeks).  Anyway, all anecdotal, but I did suspect video drivers.  I would much rather that than thinking my video card could be developing issues.

I will back up the OP on 2020 crashes.  It's not a continuous issue, but I would say I get a CTD about every 3 days - the most common at the moment of clicking "Fly".

Once I'm on the tarmac, I get no crashes and all flights go smoothly with great performance.  The main issue for me is being back on the desktop before I can enter the cockpit.  If I make it to the ramp I'm good-to-go.

I am running 572.16, but am actually crashing less with it then the previous driver, I may experiment with changing this, but for now, with only an occasional crash, I'll stick with it.  I also switched to DX12 and that seems to have helped.

would be interesting to see if that were true on a bigger or multi monitor setup: 48"+

Nvidia 566.36 drivers here, and MSFS 2020 is running perfectly for me at the moment.

I am on a 49 ultrawide at 5K with MSFS running phenomenally.  Halfway through a 12 1/2hr flight right now.  Haven't had issues since the "checking for updates" debacle...

572.16 is not the latest. 572.24 is. And there are reports it helped msfs2024, not sure if 572.24 did anything for 2020.

2024 is running great on 572.24. I'm going to try 2020 right now. I bet is won't perform with as smoothly as 2024.
