I assume that the keyboard can also be used? I have always used DEL on the right side keypad for this.

Yes it can. I use TrackIR,  I have centre view on a keyboard press.

'Our' money?  My money was spent four months ago and has returned four months of pleasure. 2024 isn't 100 percent yet, but is already a superb product.

I’m sure he knows the difference. I think you have mistaken what “he” thinks with what “you” think.

Hundreds of fixes, but, same old same old negativity.

It does work. I use this frequently and mapped my middle mouse button to this. Works like a Charme

Can you share what variable you mapped? I tried and never succeeded.

I was hoping that the issue with sounds stuttering when changing views in 2024 would have been fixed with SU1 but it's still there. And for me it seems like a Asobo server issue getting hammered.

It's far more likely to be locally MSFS 2024, which seems to take over the entire PC sound hardware.
Also, since I upgraded my broadband connection, it doesn't happen any more.

I get 600 mbps on my internet connection here at home

It's most likely MSFS itself then.

I have 'Reset Cockpit View' assigned to the trigger of my Warthog Joystick. (Also reset external view) If I have panned anywhere else, Reset Cockpit View snaps it around to front and centre again.

was able to load 2024 now and yes, confirmed. I also have these 2 assigned to my middle mouse button:

- Reset external view

- Reset cockpit view

Nobody denies what further fixes are required, but I see many advances in the flight sim genre with 2024 too.  How about celebrating those rather than a constant drone of criticism?

Sure!, here is my celebration:

I finally tried 2024 a couple of weeks ago. Generic install, no add-ons, same computer that 2020 runs great on. 1gb fiber internet. I go to free flight-world map, select my parking spot, wait about 3 minutes then find myself with side of face planted against the outside of a plane and my nose on the back of a wing. Well, this is certainly innovative compared to starting in the cockpit. Since it was dark outside I decided to change time of day in order to figure out where I was. Sim froze for a minute then crashed. Reboot computer.

2nd Try: free flight, select parking spot at KRIC, nothing is really happening, then "low bandwidth" warning. Check my graphic settings, everything is set med-high where 2024 has defaulted. Shut down 2024, fire up 2020, Surprise! no bandwidth problems, the scenery is sharp with no pop-ins or blurries.

3rd Try: free flight again but start on runway this time at KSBA, again in default cessna. Takes a while to load but finally I am able to take first flight in 2024! I climb to about 2,000' flying east. The ground directly below looks a little cartoonish, like a watercolor, but it's sharp. I wonder why the mountain ridge just a few miles to the north is just a blur. Then "low bandwidth" warning explains it all. shut down 2024, check my internet connection and see the usual 900+Mbps download/100Mbps upload.

2nd & 3rd Day: same low bandwidth warnings every flight attempt. Try using other servers instead of the one close to me on the east coast US. Tried huge cache, no extra cache, graphic settings changes of every kind, even all to Low. (2020 runs great at high to ultra).

Sorry, I can't quite agree that 2024 is a "polished diamond in progress"

That is a really poor description of what you saw.  No idea what you are talking about.

I had no body, so exact distance is hard to judge. lean the side of your head against the outside of the fuselage facing forward, a couple of inches behind a wing. I assume I was meant to examine a particular rivet.

A polished diamond in progress is a rough diamond. MSFS2024 is without doubt a rough diamond. MSFS2020 is a polished zirconia.

I didn't see any mention of this update fixing persistent bandwidth issues. They stated that this was fixed within the first week of release. I'll try again in a few months.
