I had to write here by not finding a single option to get my money back. It made me write here in avsim. Just for share and having help.

in any case it is the product that should convince me that it is good and not its users

thank you

  • Kind of strange that after BATC was voted best new product in the Navigraph Poll, all of a sudden on the same day two different threads pop up stating BATC is terrible, followed by pro SI comments.  H

I'm just wondering ... when you purchase an "Early Access" product, does that mean you don't necessarily have the same/normal consumer rights? Or do you waive those rights when you accept some agreement or other (most most of us rarely read) at the time. Genuine question!

My honest suggestion: give it time ... You only used it for a few days, and BATC is getting frequent updates where new features, but also bug fixes and other fine tuning / improvements are added.

Please be patient, and you will probably find that you can actually enjoy it.

Regarding a refund:

To request a refund for the Beyond ATC Early Access license, you can contact their support team. You can either email them at support @ beyondatc . net or raise a ticket in the "Support" channel on their official Discord server, which you can joinhere. Make sure to explain your situation clearly when reaching out.

Most flight sim devs don’t have refund policies, regardless of it being early access or not. There’s no singular storefront like Steam where’s that’s a flat, no questions asked, refund policy. Getting a refund for majority of flight sim products is fairly difficult or downright impossible as defined that they don’t do refunds.

Early access products are in its very nature unfinished, you’re entirely fair to complain about it but, you signed up to essentially use an unfinished product, can’t exactly expect a seamless experience. If you wanted a more complete experience then wait for full release.

im afraid im spanish. i dont know what early acces means. i know that here, in spain, the publicity of batc is very good, thats why i decided to spend my money:)

finally, i have discovered it is a not finished product, like a beta of the beta.. too many mistakes and no immersion. thats my opinion and thats why i would like just to be refund my money.

thanks for understanding.

When you buy the product there’s a fairly short disclaimer that you’re buying an early access product and what that means, you need to specifically scroll down and accept that disclaimer in order to buy BATC. I don’t understand how you can say you don’t understand what EA is when you have to had read what it js before you can buy BATC.

I have both BATC as well as a sub to SayIntentions. I do like the traffic injection with BATC but do not like that the gates can't connect to AI so, I generally use SI more

Hello. I'm here because I purchased the Beyond ATC license a couple of hours ago, but I'm requesting a refund.

I've been encountering terrible nonstop errors: plans disappearing when landing, plans taking off in taxi lines, plans that drop and then ascend again upon takeoff.

In just two hours of use, my 30 euro investment is completely wasted because even the voices have no connection to reality. The ATC in Spanish instead says "time," which is literally read.

The ATC ignores me and doesn't invite me to descend when I'm approaching the TOD, etc., etc.
In short, it's one thing to find an error, and another to be unable to do anything at all. I've also checked this at three airports: GCXO, GCLP, and LEMD. It's the same in all of them.

Please, I'm requesting a refund because this product, despite warning about possible bugs, doesn't comply with any of its requirements.

A very common misconception among Flightsimmers.

ATC does not "invite" anyone to start descending. They have their own descend schedule for you to meet crossing restrictions. When you reach your calculated TOD it is YOUR job to request it from ATC. This is how this is done in the real world and BATC reflects that correctly.

It should be said that many, like me, think Say intentions is several leagues above BATC.

I am sure many like BATC, but I found it to feel very scripted.

Which why it preferable to Say Intentions. Say Intentions has too much freedom. The AI constantly imagines things instead of following procedures.

I think you have to read over their BeyondATC Help Center found here::

https://wiki.beyondatc.net

You'll see that you are the PIC (Pilot In Command) and it's you that should decide when to start the descent, asking the controller when you're approaching your TOD.

Take your time to get into it, practice a lot more, and even if it's not perfect yet, it's been progressing after each release.

Cheers, Ed

That is not entirely correct. In my country, you may be given the instruction "when ready, descend to FL250". Or, ATC may start to descend you if it suits their needs "descend to FL250", or in the absence of anything else you can request the descent.

This indeed. And that's how it is with BATC in my case. Sometimes I have to aks for descent and sometimes BATC tells me to descent before I even think of asking it myself. It's different everytime and I like that. I am not entirely sure if this is so on purpose or if it is a flaw in BATC, haha, but it's quite realistic nonetheless.

Having said that: imho the 'You are the PIC-card' is being drawn a bit too easily by BATC support. Quite often when there is a clear bug or something goes wrong and you report it you are told 'Yeah, well, duh, you are the PIC...!'. Like whenever BATC does something wrong they won't easily say 'You are right, BATC is bad when it comes to this' but draw the PIC-card a bit too quick. But well, it's fine with me. I absolutely love BATC and won't fly without it!

It is entriely correct. Your case was covered by the sentence you didn't quote.

Is there any voice communication in real world, that is more scripted (in the sense that it follows a strict regulatory protocol) than ATC? I can't think about any.

That was not my point which I think you know.  For example, all the airports I departed from in the UK saw me cleared to FL180.  Didn't matter what airport or what time, always cleared to FL180.  This feels scripted to me.

thanks for your help.

I have been on BATC web page and also on discord and itsi completely imposible to find a little option where it talks about "refund". Its all designed to tease me to buy...they never say: refunding.

thanks anyway.

It clearly states on their web site No Refunds!!
