    I think a lot of the issues stem from addons. An internal QA team will test a completely clean install to make sure nothing obvious breaks out of the box. Afterwards it's exactly what the public beta

    Just a heads up all, additional release notes containing the stuff we (WT) did for this currently available SU2 release are now available at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-2-beta-1-4-

I reinstalled FS24 yesterday and have not had a CTD yet. This compares with a crashfest two days ago. I wouldn’t dare use any add-ons at this point, so we’ll see how today goes.

7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

No crashes here with any of my addons so far.

Ground Power finally works in the Asobo 737 Max

My observation: when i turn off the poi markers vram goes down about 500-600 MB. What a stutterfest around london after latest update to beta. I had to lower down my tlod. texture reso allready lowest 1080p some ultra/medium/low. VRAM stays around 10 gigs and when it goes above 10,7 GB the stutterfest starts. My 12 GB vram isnot enough.

Do like me - for the beta / flighting releases, only default install... No addons.

They need to gather data, and that may well interfere with the SIM performance. The less stress the best.

Installed it last night and made a couple rather successful test circuits in the c172. Was really well impressed with:

.) smoothness;

.) weather rendering;

.) feel of flight.

You can extend the fuel probe on the F-18 now

And there's a couple panels you can open when doing the walk around, idk if that's new

Different teams fix different issues, you should know that by now.

I could be wrong, I don't think Asobo is handling the F-18

Still the very same product in the end. I could not care less which team does which part, the final product counts. And if I see that such details get attention while other things dont get any since the release of MSFS2020, I question the priorities. And dont tell me that the guy/team that worked on this probe couldnt invest their manpower into other things of the sim, I doubt that they can only do probes and nothing else 🤣

I mean it's about time they took VR seriously for once, we've (yes there's lots of us!) have been crying out for attention to fix blatant issues and bring in new features for 4+ years - seems we've FINALLY been heard, better late than never eh?!

Xbox doesn’t support VR and that’s why they’re not scrambling and using tons of resources to update it. I’m glad to see you guys have at least gotten some attention to your preferred method of simming. I just think MS isn’t going to throw a ton of money at it since they don’t even support it on Xbox.

Well I really hope SIM update 2 improves the texture loading and TLOD. Flying over the LA area is a nightmare at  the moment. Frames are jumping everywhere and dropping to single digits sometimes from my Lock 48. Turn down the texture resolution from high to medium and it's still almost on flyable in that area. Once you're out of the LA area completely smooth flying. I was also at an altitude of 38,000 ft when this was happening.

VRam is it's not maxing out on the video card so that's not the issue. My CPU is spiking though, however before sim update 1, I never really had these issues. Have also deleted my rolling cache, and set it to 16, 50, 100, 128GB with no realistic improvement that I've seen.

Now should the rolling cache be on the same drive that flight SIM is running on a fast SSD drive? Or can I put the rolling cash on a mechanical drive that's a huge drive?

Flying the 737-max, my performance decreases during the flight.

I start with 80 fps (locked external) and during cruise this will go down to 10-20 fps.

PC is not the problem, other aircraft do not have this issue.

i7 13700K, 64GB RAM, RTX 4090.

Anybody knows how to solve this? The 737-max is getting better every update. A shame I can't land it with a good FPS rate.

Odd, I just did a flight in it and didn't have that issue.
