The new exposure compensation slider in the graphics options is nice.

By the way, anyone else having problems posting in the forum? I can only post using my phone. Strange.

For whatever reason I can't reply using Chrome on my mobile device. I have to switch over to the Samsung internet browser to reply on mobile. I can reply on desktop however. Odd

    I think a lot of the issues stem from addons. An internal QA team will test a completely clean install to make sure nothing obvious breaks out of the box. Afterwards it's exactly what the public beta

    Just a heads up all, additional release notes containing the stuff we (WT) did for this currently available SU2 release are now available at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-2-beta-1-4-

This is a very promising SU 2 beta. It is surely smoother, and the blurry texture seems to be less frequent. The heavy FPS on take off/landing roll persists but now it is not unbearable. Will need to do more tests.

Are there still addons that don’t work because of the UserCfg.opt issues?  That and the crashes (which sound like they were largely fixed in this latest update) were the two things keeping me from joining the beta.

Last time I tried, I wasn't able to load Fenix, as soon as I choose the aircraft, the sim would CTD. I uninstalled it for now. A350 seems to work fine.

I really don't know what's the cause, if Placebo or whatever, but yesterday I made a

1) CLEAN INSTALL of FS 2024, no addons installed - Community folder empty! Made a short circuit in the default C172;

2) then went to the usual folder where UserCfg.opt is stored and changed the path to my "F:\MSFS" where I always want the Community, FS2020, FS2024 and StearmedDownloads folders as well as the CACHE file to reside;

3) then exited the sim, used xBox Insider Hub to join the beta, restarted the PC;

4) I was presented with this new 1.4.9.0 version, flew around in the default C172 and found that it felt better than ever before, specially when roll inputs were given? It "feel of flight" feels better !?

I decided to stay in beta mode, meaning that although this morning I opened AVSIM an learned that a new update to the gorgeous A350 had been released, I will stay with my decision and will not install any addons unless I see users / developers reporting they behave correctly.

Have read the reports regarding quirks with online mode and multiplayer, but I always have disable the "online shared space" with other users feature since I started using FS 2024. I did use it with FS 2020, but gave up because most of the time the guys around me tended to behave like kids...

So, so far so good! I'm in beta mood / mode !!!

Ah! one detail I found:

5) Now the folders where the usual files, such as "UserCfg.opt" reside are empty ??? I can't find that file anymore in the usual folders, and didn't find it elsewhere ... Is it now in the "Cloud" too ?

It seems someone at Asobo has taken the decision to actually work on VR this SU2 update, new features rolling out and they're seemingly working on the EFB (still not 100% but it's getting there after this latest beta update). I mean it's about time they took VR seriously for once, we've (yes there's lots of us!) have been crying out for attention to fix blatant issues and bring in new features for 4+ years - seems we've FINALLY been heard, better late than never eh?!

Looking forward to more EFB fixes and hopefully the very simple Mouse/Menu issue which quite frankly a five year old could fix.

That started for me yesterday too! Can't quote or reply. Thought it was just me but saw your comment so had to reply (somehow!).

My default tablet browser is Brave and avsim suddenly stopped allowing me to reply or quote completely yesterday. But I can use Chrome in fact I'm using it now.

I wonder if it's the DEFAULT that has issues rather than a particular browser?

It's some problem with Avsim site. I first had it yesterday too. Can't post or reply using Chrome or Brave on the desktop, I need to use Firefox on my phone. No problem with other sites.

Joining SU2 beta this morning and cannot get it to do anything without freezing

Deleted rolling cache and created new 64gb cache. After it completed pc froze. Left for a long time but pc just did one click per second

Rebooted. Changed graphics settings. When changed from dlss amd frs became active..sim froze

Restarted. Got back to dlss. Started flight default c172. Sim froze again when changed from windowed to fullscreen.

Note:  This DOES NOT change our current stance related to FSLTL's support for MSFS2024.  In fact, the initial SU2 looks to be worse than SU1 for AI.

Fantastic.

After some more positive reviews and a patch and now that I have done full re-install due to the first SU 2 update fiasco, I’m back in the beta and it’s running smoothly.

Somebody asks is the watermasks done, laughing out loud, fix the vram usage first. The recommended specs should be 4090/5090/7900XTX with 24 GB of vram and a minimum of 9800x3d.

 I was flying with jetson, the smallest vehicle in sim landed in the middle of nowhere and got low vram message. I was flying with 1080p DLAA , lowest texture resolution and frame gen enabled. I cannot get enough performance without frame gen.

 My specs are 4070 super with 12 gb of vram, 5800x3d and 64 gigs of main memory 3600 mhz. i get fps of 50-100 with frame gen, but when the vram runs out fps is about 7 or so. They should do something to the memory system.

 Somebody with 7900xt 20 gb of vram reported that its not always enough.

 I say the minimum recommended vram amount is 16 gb, devs , do something, asap.

I am using sim update 2 beta
