Sim Update 2 Beta Released

The new insane accuracy of vegetation placement (at least in europe) is worth it alone for me. No more trees in the middle of fields. New sharp edges of forests and less amount of trees in cities. The data/algorithm they use for this is very good! Low and slow paradise with excellent performance och clarity! Same as the last beta version of su1 (1.3.24 which never made it to final).

Next thing for Asobo is detailed biomes with correct species at correct places 🙂

I think a lot of the issues stem from addons. An internal QA team will test a completely clean install to make sure nothing obvious breaks out of the box. Afterwards it's exactly what the public beta

Just a heads up all, additional release notes containing the stuff we (WT) did for this currently available SU2 release are now available at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-2-beta-1-4-

Alright, calm down!

Honestly, you could have told yourself that yesterday. The youtuber in question focuses on VR and he was excited about improvements introduced in SC2 beta. There's a 2020/24 FB group dedicated to VR and from what I can tell, a lot of them are very happy with what they're seeing. Calling the guy suspicious because he is enthusiastic is a bit much.

Has that something to do with how the content is created (the mood) or with is it more a thing how people react on someones content?

Finding people, who are haplessly positive, suspicious is something I find  interesting thing.

I like his happiness.....I like everyones happiness AND criticism also....also people who are sad or mad because they are feeling not understood with something, is something I like!

People sharing feelings are open and show emotions.....that's a GOOD thing.

Just my reaction on your post.

I'm interested in why you are suspicious?

Can I answer for myself?

The thing is that in the era of social media, these are just FAKE reactions construed to earn clicks.

Reaction to this, reaction to that... all emphasized to gain views. It's the fake world and the YT garbage we're talking about.

Rubbish? Honestly....? Why? Because a YouTuber spends time to share his positive emotions? Because he is happy to become or have something he waited long for?

That's what you call rubbish?

I feel sorry you feel and see things that way.

Balance and objectivity is also a good thing. Especially when sharing an opinion in the public space. It brings a recognition that while something may be mostly positive and vice versa examining and acknowledging the negatives demonstrates your ability to perform objective analysis and brings credibility.

This is why some people respond with suspicion with overly exuberant click baity titles.. and i skip them altogether.

One can have an opinion .. but if its without a thorough evaluation of all aspects of the subject matter then yeah ... i personally cant take that persons opinion seriously.

I wonder if you would have cared if he was bashing the beta with the same energy...

Have you watched all of his videos? Him and his like, I’ve seen people purchase hardware based on his recommendations (myself too, I fell in that trap once). It’s mostly just sensationalised rubbish to get clicks and sponsorships. Typical of a lot of YouTube.

folks calm down or take it elsewhere. I am a tuber when it comes to planes and not videos (on a side note, that still picture already made me NOT to watch it), so wanted to check back on the CTD situation. while yesterday Fenix (with the MIPMAP workaround) and 350 worked, not so today anymore. just the RJ flies without issues, so time to revert back to that a bit until there is the next SU2 beta update

just gave the fenix another try and the 320 loads fine, just enroute LOWK to LOWI RNAV08, sky looks great, all smooth. the 319 CTDed before but that was with an (official) livery, seemingly the workaround is not that robust. anyway, flying again. tubes

What's the performance at heathrow like? I still have very poor performance there in the Fenix A320 even after SU1. I was hoping it would be improved in SU2, but with the issues of the fenix in SU2, I've not tried it myself yet.

not gonna waste my time reporting anything to them about VR.

Strange considering how relentless you report these issues to us. Did any Avsimer ever fix one of these things for you?

default or Ini?

BTW for the record, landed the 320 just fine and then CTDed when parking at the ramp... must be something fishy with the SU2 beta as we all realized by now 😉

This is a way more reflected opinion and that sounds very different and more respectful then calling something someone made, as HIS content, rubbish....

Thanks for sharing and I see some things similar as you see....

And still....he does not get paid and offers this for free...
