I think they lowered the texture quality on the default AI models

Default AI models also all have Pilot models and registry numbers now

Completely empty community folder.

I think a lot of the issues stem from addons. An internal QA team will test a completely clean install to make sure nothing obvious breaks out of the box. Afterwards it's exactly what the public beta

Just a heads up all, additional release notes containing the stuff we (WT) did for this currently available SU2 release are now available at https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/sim-update-2-beta-1-4-

If it's an aircraft like the A350 from Inibuilds, every time there's an update, the wasm files need to rebuild. I was around 8 mins yesterday for the first run, the circle does just keep spinning during this period. If you don't let it complete, you will never get it loaded. Same will happen first run on PMDG etc. After this initial set up, mine loads in about 2mins

Thank you for your help.

It wasn't my case.

At the beginning it was that I couldn't place any aircraft on a parking place, then I couldn't put a plane on the runway (so the sim didn't start!) and, finally, I had to exit the Xbox inside program, uninstall MSFS 2024 and install it again.

Everything was "normal" again, but no beta.

I'll wait to the official SU2.

Greetings

I cannot even start a flight today. Not once. CTD.

Don't they do even a little basic testing before releasing betas ?

How do we supposed to test that mile long changelog if we cant even start a flight ?

Did you try it with an empty community folder and no addons running? I had no problems at all.

Yeah, there seems to be a few addon's causing issues. i moved the lot bar Navigraph, the A350 and a couple of airports after having constant ctd's at first. Loads and runs fine now. I am just going to start working through the addons i had, to see what's causing the issue.

I thougt SU 2 Beta would be an early April Fool from Asobo, judging by the issues reported here in this thread

Surprisingly, I have the impression that my performance improves. I cant be certain whether the VRAM anomaly will occur when flying longer durations but the GPU load, temp, and FPS do look promising so far.

I am lucky I didn't experience any CTDs, it is simply plug and play. Even the latest AutoFPS build works just fine. The trees (above Istanbul) are also less dense thus believable.

Nothing fancy. No FSLTL, no air and airport traffic. I was flying Taog's Hangar 315 Lama. Flying low and slow to observe VRAM behavior

Well I got one CTD last night due to my GPU's VRAM being saturated........

This was at 1440p. I went down to 1080p and the sim was till warning me that my graphics settings were too high for the available VRAM...

5800X3D. 32 GB RAM. 1TB SATA SSD. 3TB HDD. RX  9070XT.

SU2 works fine here after I took the Fenix out of the community folder. That alone - even when not used - seemingly caused CTDs when entering the aircraft selection menu. the RJ works fine, by the way, was just adding that back. will try 350 next

EDIT I know Fenix is experimental in 2024, just in case someone thinks I am complaining. I am not.

Hmm, ok. this is tempting now. Maybe the F28 will work too?
