did you test with an empty community folder first?

 

I think they lowered the texture quality on the default AI models

Default AI models also all have Pilot models and registry numbers now

Hmm , still nothing about Draw distance/LOD fixes.

So when we will be able to see contrails and other planes from 20nm and more when in cruise? When I will see contrails when looking at sky in external view durimg PAX boarding?

This is no go for me with MSFS24.  I did some testing with friends and when in cruise you will see other plane and maybe contrails from less than 8nm away. In MSFS20 it is at least 20 maybe 25nm away.

Hope they will fix it soon , either in SU2 or SU3 latest.

ah they fixed the transponder issue on the 737Max, and some of the displays being tied to brightness knobs when they shouldn't be

Can't load into a flight, keeps crashing ;(

Thus far..

Tried with my normal community folder... started up fine but on free flight screen when selecting an addon aircraft, froze then CTD..

Renamed community folder to community.old and made a new community folder...

Started no problem and could choose any default plane and fly it.. VR was nice and smooth with the Toolbar even working!

Some issues with the controllers... seems they've locked some profiles... not sure what that's about

After a few flights it just froze again... so not bad really... now to introduce my addons back bit by bit!

I wasn't planning on going to beta anyway after the last great sim wipe of 2025 but after reading this thread I am definitely not...  Do they actually have any PC testers in house?  

Reverted back to su1 and all is back working. Opted out of beta in steam, it was that simple. ATC was messed up along with Active Sky not injecting. All working again with the revert.

In 2D, I get no issues fps a little bit better, less stutter and less planes popping into view when taxing along the runways towards the gate after landing. I would suggest deleting rolling cache before booting up MSFS (although I did not like I usually do before an update):

ROLLING CACHE DELETE

C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache

Delete the ROLLINGCACHE.CCC file before you boot up MSFS2024

I think a lot of the issues stem from addons. An internal QA team will test a completely clean install to make sure nothing obvious breaks out of the box. Afterwards it's exactly what the public beta is for - a stress test for all the different configs / community folders out there.

My streamed packages folder has oodles of things in it... is that the folder you are referring too? And will it all need to be downloaded again?

Yes.  I saw it on the MS forum, same issue. Constant CTD trying to navigate menu. Deleted streamed packages and now I’m flying the Max-8 (much improved btw).
