Third attempt. Caravan. CTD on the world map.

I've made a habit when updating beta builds and live releases.

  • Let the update run.
  • Go to app data folder
  • Empty "Scenery Indexes"
  • Empty "Cache"
  • Navigate to the "StreamedPackages" Folder and empty that.
  • Reboot the PC
  • Start the sim.

This has greatly reduced the amount of issues I encounter on beta or release builds.

I think a lot of the issues stem from addons. An internal QA team will test a completely clean install to make sure nothing obvious breaks out of the box. Afterwards it's exactly what the public beta

General VR fixes:- Fixed the ratio of panels in VR flight

  • Fixed the appearance of the toolbar when going out of VR flight
  • Fixed some 3D UI that were appearing in front of the panels in VR flight

You didn't notice those?

Shall try that since I tried to start 2024 three times and it CTDed within the first max. 60 seconds in all three cases …

I merged two topics on the same subject. The long list has now been removed.

Thanks, make sense.

The UserCFG.opt file is adding a new line at the end that makes other apps unable to find the community folder. You can delete it, but it keeps coming back.

That will probably affect all external apps - Fenix, Active Sky, RealTurb, FSHud etc.

I’m going to wait and see for a while. I think this is the first MSFS beta I don’t enroll in on day 1.

Yup - I reverted back to the official version because of that.

Yep, FSLTL doesn't work too, but it seems the devs are already trying to fix it.

There are also some major changes to Career, and it does not keep your progress vs the non-beta version. At least that is my understanding. When I loaded career all my progress was gone, and everything was set to completed.

starting the sim from desktop to menu is much faster now. But starting a free flight from airport A to airport B takes 3-4 minutes the first time. Sim is only downloading stuff the first 10-20 seconds during waiting time. The area is downloaded to the rolling cache from previous flights.  Ending the free flight and starting the same flight again works much faster in under one minute. Restarting the whole sim resets this effect again.  Starting the same free flight again takes 4 minutes the first time.

What about VR? This was touted as the major TLC that VR was hoping for!

Any feedback on the VR front?

sounds like the experimental branch of BATC has been updated to support SU2, I think?

MSFS2024 SU2 Beta - fix no traffic models found error if you are using the SU2 Beta build of MSFS2024.
