March 25, 20251 yr starting the sim from desktop to menu is much faster now. But starting a free flight from airport A to airport B takes 3-4 minutes the first time. Sim is only downloading stuff the first 10-20 seconds during waiting time. The area is downloaded to the rolling cache from previous flights. Ending the free flight and starting the same flight again works much faster in under one minute. Restarting the whole sim resets this effect again. Starting the same free flight again takes 4 minutes the first time.
