March 26, 20251 yr I'm going to be honest, I wasn't planning on moving on to 2024 for the next 12 months, wanted to wait for it to mature, but my son had other plans and gave it to me for my birthday. Well, after a couple of days after getting it I decided to install it along 2020. Performance expectations weren't that high considering my mid-range pc specs and since 2024 being new, I was sure and prepared to encounter issues in the stability department, HOW WRONG I WAS! I've been having a blast with 2024, so satisfied that after just a few days, 2020 is no longer on my pc. Performance is soooo good with settings at high, clouds Ultra (Fauna and Ray tracing off) these last two are frames hogs. Very very smooth, honestly, I've never had such experience with smoothness ever before, not even with 2020 or any other sim for that matter, lighting effects are awesome, eye-candy is beyond of what I would have expected to have with my mid-range pc, so far, not a single CTD, loading times are fast compared to 2020. Setting up my Alpha, Bravo and Charlie devices was a breeze, no issues with data streaming (100mb bandwidth here). I have noticed that when flying in a different part of the world, every once in a while I do get a micro stutter here and there, I suppose is the rolling cache doing its thing, then all good, not a deal breaker, I've experienced stutters more frequently with 2020, more so while panning. Weather depiction and transitions are excellent, FSRealistic works fine, TDS NXi works with no issues, Navigraph and all my required addons work just fine. Frames locked at 40 (1/3 within the sim) on a 27" 120Mhz curved monitor, resolution is 1080p (and the reason I have such performance with my pc specs). So far I haven't seen any drops anywhere I fly, panning with TrackIr is butter smooth, not a single stutter. Seems like 2024 has been developed with efficiency and better use of pc specs in mind, whatever the case may be, that's what I can seen in my particular case anyway. Extremely happy with 2024 even though most of my bought 2020 planes/addons are not 100% compatible, I don't mind waiting for the updates. In the meantime, I bought the FSR500 and it's been quite an immersive experience flying it along with A Pilot's Life Chapter 2. What else can i say, 2024 will only get better with time, If it was up to me, I wouldn't even bother with updates any more, this is how happy I am with the current state of the sim. March 26, 20251 yr Just landed at Sitka, Alaska, after a short flight from Ketchikan. 2020 still looks great and each flight is perfect.
March 26, 20251 yr The best thing about MSFS is its ability to be whatever experience you want it to be. It can be anything from a game to a second full-time career. I can’t think of another product that does that. 7950X3D | RTX 4090 | 96GB DDR5 | 4K G-Sync | Win11 Pro

March 26, 20251 yr Fault finding. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). March 26, 20251 yr the best thing is that, due to major work on my house, I'm now staying at a marina for 4 weeks that is right under eham runway 18C, which I thought was hardly used.
