Definitely shaping up to be the best clouds in any commercial consumer level flight sim.

hopefully the clouds are always and everywhere "the best in any ....flight sim" and not just in a few selected situations. I have seen fantastic looking clouds in this and other simulators before only to watch major flaws and strange looking effects in other scenarios., only if they are finally constantly everywhere and at every time of day "the best" are they really the best of any flight sim.

Exactly. That's what I thought immediately, too.😉

What's mammatus? Of course I know what mammatus clouds are. So ... X-Plane is (again 😄) lightyears decades ahead of ... censored 😄.

But does it show up properly with a electromagnetic wave beam? both in form of landing lights and in the form of weather radars 😛

You can give me the conditions and time to load it up, and I'm happy to check.  I have it on my system.

12.2 is the time for YOU to shine 🙂

It's currently their priority, they have the dev time allocated to getting exactly that, they have good tooling to enable you to give them everything they need to make exactly that happen.

In 12.2 beta, when you see clouds that are not "the best of any flight sim"

Quote

select “dump to log > weather state” in the developer menu. After you’ve done that, copy the log and submit that

No more of that obscure "can make weird effects without telling anyone how to recreate them" please, I'm of opinion you are serious when you say you want this, before or after this coming beta run was not really the time, anything cloud wise that isn't fixed over the 12.2 run will likely stay that way for a while as they move on to other priorities, so if you don't get them what they need to fix what you don't like about the clouds, it will very much be a "speak now or forever hold your peace" type situation.

From my experience of reporting issues over the last 8 years or so, if you do that, while its priority #1, while they may not get every tiny detail to perfection, you will be very satisified with everything they do fix (even if some of them take a bit longer than anyone would like).

caveat - dont do more than 1 or 2 a day, else the bug reporting system has a tendency to ignore you. A load of issues that were important to me got lost because I submitted them all in one go, and then it took years to get them resolved. Not sure if that is different now, but just in case...

Hopefully the beta is coming soon. I can't wait, this looks spectacular.

Beta's come pretty quickly after the alpha's.  I think we're on the 2nd alpha at the moment, so the beta should be around the corner.

On a slightly different note, it seems there are some (one) people who complain about the same thing, several times, and then when I offer to test what they complain about in the newest alpha, they choose to stay silent.

Shame, because I've been testing this alpha with a vengeance, and it's a very nice update.

Hi,

Do you have the ability to test networking? If so, do we have gates on the back end of a flight? Do airport vehicles disappear between computers? Does a lighting strike light up all monitors at the same time or just the one monitor where the strike took place?

Thanks

I do have 3 computers (1 iMac, 1 MacBook Pro and 1 Windows PC), I don't have a network set up between them, so I couldn't tell you.
