You may want to take what Ben says with a large grain of salt! Ben once told me it was impossible to have 3D rain effect with my flight deck, yet here we have it running just fine. Anyway, just like many stuff in flight simulation, I prefer to not bother with such details when the overall experience is so enriching ... Only thing I noticed is that they are a bit sharp on top, if that was softened up a bit, I wouldn't think anything of those clouds. April 6, 20251 yr Hey, first time doing a night flight in 12.2... Noticed something I didn't seem to notice before. Maybe I just don't remember. Did aircraft always exhibit these "light spheres" around lights at night? Specifically, look at NAV lights. The green and red "spheres" are a little... overdone? Take a look. This is Toliss A321. https://photos.app.goo.gl/owcP86FMC6MmQ4zD7
April 6, 20251 yr Interesting. Second crash in an hour with Toliss A321... Makes me wonder what plugin. Could it be Toliss A321? Or perhaps Global Forests? I am gonna retry with Global Forests disabled. I don't have XP Map Enhancement running at all. Plugins are Avitab, Terrain Radar, Landing Rate (via Lua), Better Pushback, and that's it. Yesterday LevelUp and Zibo were all flying fine for hours without crashes.
April 6, 20251 yr @blingthinger When I wrote "Not all pilots want to see their graphics completely ruined" I wasn't referring to the clouds, but to the "eye autoexposure" effect that in this photo completely ruined (overexposed/blinded) the external view, the runway disappeared in a blanket of white light. Making the effect an Option doesn't seem like a bad idea to me. If user X wants blinding overexposed graphics, he will enable the special effect from the menu. If user Y doesn't want blinding overexposed graphics, he will disable the special effect from the menu. This solution would relieve the user of the responsibility of clumsily fiddling with the art controls to get rid of them (as I am now forced to do because I have no other choice). You made broad-stroking, disparaging statements that had zero substantiation other than a pic that you repeatedly refused to provide full ability for others to recreate. And like I said earlier, even if your pic is valid, you've identified the 1% situation that in no way represents the rest of that new feature. Hardly a majestic feature request. April 6, 20251 yr Maya says Hi to everyone, he can´t post here right now for some odd reason, but his message regarding the pixelated clouds that @efis007 experienced is: "The pixelated cloud issue is known, probably not a lot of people experience it because it depends heavily on the light angle and the shape of the cloud, it's planned to be fixed but unfortunately no ETA yet Cirrus and clouds with flat bottoms that lit from below (like in sunset / sunrise) are affected the worst"

Just as I never called you a "troll", I just said that the attitude in your past posts can make you look like a troll for other users. Anyway, I reckon discussions like these are boring for other users. I'll leave it here and go back discussing XP12.2. I’ve been into flight sims since FS5 and I’ve been making add ons, full time, in X-Plane since 2009. I knew you were slightly older than myself, though. As a slightly more senior person to myself, and one who made add ons for free, I would’ve expected you to come across as more understanding when it comes to problems with a flight sim. The entire thread was an announcement thread. Not a “post your problems in the new beta” thread. I’ve said it before, if you have problems, make a new thread. You won’t be taking up internet space. Posting 2 images, with zero context, does very little to get you help with your problem. At the very least, you could just post the problem and be courteous about it. We’re all here to help each other. It has nothing to do with “defending” Laminar. And as you can see, when you simply post details about the problem, with full context, you have help almost immediately. if you want respect, be respectful. On top of Jans post, I recommend that you have a 2nd install of X-plane with no add ons and no scenery for testing purposes. Edited April 7, 20251 yr by GoranM
April 6, 20251 yr To follow up on the recent two crashes with Toliss A321, I am on attempt #3 and no crash this time. I disabled Global Forests. Wonder if that's what cured the problem. I may be flying on vanilla scenery for the foreseeable future. 🙂
