Depends on the change, if the changes make their life easier they accept “change” quickly. I presented a solution earlier in thread. Asobo is probably aware of the UI issues, the PM will decide if the UI will be improved and if it makes it to the pending list and then assign a priority. If the support and exposure this issue presents seem minimal (based on the feedback I’ve seen here and elsewhere it has some user feedback volume to it), then priority will likely be low … if it’s causing users to not buy or walk away from it, then it’ll get a bump in priority. I personally think fixing the UI would be worth the time investment, a user not setting up controllers correctly due to UI confusion can lead to a very poor flight experience that can supersede all other issues. Nothing worse than coming into land and hit what you think is the gear down button and instead it shuts down an engine. 😉 8 Pages in this thread with a lot of people NOT liking the UI and some saying “get used to it” and very few liking it … which is pretty representative of other website forums/chat and Steam.

Admittedly, it does take awhile for it to mentally click, but once you see it, it's great and I'd not trade it back for the old way. Even if we didn't have the ability to customize defaults, or set multiple Cascades for new defaults and aircraft types, just the convenience of not having to change control profiles every time I fly a helo, GA, or jet would be worth the very slight initial set up inconvenience. Takes me about 1 minute at most to switch controls from one aircraft to another. Much better than dealing with rat's next of a UI, especially when all your settings get wiped, which seems to be a common complaint.

It's one thing to have Bad or Incompetent designers, but another thing for them to get Approved and they are found in the final product! What should happen is, the Community should be allowed to design new GUI screen replacements that are streamlined, simple and easy to use. Then there would be a Community poll to decide the best one, for a future release update. But you are missing the point. That design was done on purpose. The UI was designed around the XBOX Series X/S consoles. This isn't a new idea. It has been done before. Back in 2003 a racing game Grand Prix 4 also had a questionable UI layout. Later we came to find out that the game was going to be ported to the original XBOX but the project was cancelled.

That is common misconception. There is a reason we see predominately negative posts. Just think about if you had an uneventful flight would you post about it every time? I bet no! But every time sim crash or you experience some problem you would actively look for solution looking for solution or express your dissatisfaction! This is human nature! May 22, 20251 yr It would be neat to be able to edit the UI. Move tiles / frames around, etc. etc. For me the "Free Flight" tile would be big and obvious. I'm not even sure I'd have a "Career" tile. Microsoft said from the very beginning that they wanted to bring Microsoft Flight Simulator to more gamers and those who have never played or cared about flight simulators. Their biggest gaming audience is on their consoles. That's who they targeted and those gamers almost exclusively use XBOX controllers. Both on my PC and XBOX I use an XBOX controller. The UI makes perfect sense with that approach.
