May 28, 20251 yr Last night I made a couple more tweaks to my controls and it was slow, but not crazy slow like over the weekend. Maybe 15-30 seconds instead of 30-60 (seriously, a single click could take a full minute+ at times). So, definitely an inconsistent issue. I'm sure most of us aren't changing our controls enough to maybe even notice. ------------------------- Craig from KBUF
May 28, 20251 yr Controller setup is fine once understood. What drives me crazy is the lag when switching between setups. 5800X3D, 64GB 3200 RAM, 7900 XT 20GB

May 28, 20251 yr The program should give you an interactive tutorial on the controller setup. Once you understand it, it's great. I've stopped using 3rd Party addons to manage different setups for different aircraft. Matt Webb

Why would I look at a video? I actually own and use MSFS2024. The controller setup is slightly different, but not worse than in 2020 once you have used it for a few minutes. "Brain of a brick" seems more appropriate of someone relying on YouTubers instead of first-hand knowledge...

I figured it out a couple of months ago, because I don't quite (but almost) have bricks for brains, but it wasn't easy, and there are still some questions I have about the entire system, similar to what @ark asks earlier in this thread. It's actually very powerful in the end, but getting there is not easy. So.. how do you get there? I use mouse clicks, keyboard (for gear up-down, flaps and brakes) and Logitech Extreme 3d Pro-stick ( for primary flight controls and cock-pit camera and the outside camera). Where do I start ? What should be found on different phases etc.? Edited May 28, 20251 yr by petepawn Petteri Pulkkinen EFNU, Finland

The SimHangar one linked above is pretty good though. Given our lack of documentation, find a good vid is my best advice. It just takes time, even for experienced people like us. I don't know any Finnish curse words, except maybe Tiki-Talk (Esa Tikkanen) hockey-cuss words, but I'm sure you will create new Finnish curse words to describe the controls system. I know I made up some new English swear words during my learning process, but I can't repeat them here. My 2024 is still largely unused after trying in December to get controls to resemble my well working 2020 settings.. No... Petteri Took me awhile, but I finally found the video that that took out the confusion for me. Its not from one of the top guys, but I found the video simple and easy to understand what 2024 was trying to achieve. It really helped me a lot when I first started. Hope this can also help you.
