    Thanks all for your continued interest in the Starship. Today's video and the final one of these Tech Videos, for now is now out and takes us back to when GPS wasn't a thing.  Shorter video but still

    This aircraft certainly has a strong appeal for GA lovers, but being developed by Black Square puts it at the very top of any simulation for various reasons: No hasty "early adopters" (read pa

We'll be setting a release date in stone come early June and there will be a steady stream of other Overview videos appearing that will aim to give you a through insight into what to expect with the Starship.  We'll also line up some pre-release streams via our much trusted media partners so do look out for those.

And if any of you are heading to the Expo in June, we'll be there too, along with Nick from Black Square where you're welcome to head to our booth to take an even closer look at the Starship (if you've to purchase by that point).  Hope to see some of you there.

Anybody else remember flying the Starship in the Microsoft flight simulator 4.0 aircraft and scenery designer add on package ?

Happy Days !

this is really an interesting airplane! looks like BSQ does it justice!

Is BS the new A2A (not that A2A isn't awesome, but they just aren't very active)? Kind of feels that way. I'm pretty giddy for this one.

I might be wrong but I believe that the BQ aircraft don't have any persistent wear&tear, unlike the A2A aircraft.

Also, I'm not sure they model the wear&tear of the various parts of the aircraft/engines as precisely as A2A.

But they are without a doubt the closest to A2A level of all the MSFS addon makers for me.

Not sure if it's on all their aircraft, but the Dukes have persistent engine health, as does the Starship. From the manual: "Engine health and oxygen pressure are saved between flights, and can be reset via the tablet interface. However, I believe it's true that the wear and tear model isn't as extensive as on the A2A Comanche though, which also models wear and tear on the airframe and electrical system.

On the other hand, there are some details where the Black Square aircraft go slightly deeper -- the voltage-based dimming, for example.

To me, in the end, it's not really important which is better -- both A2A and Black Square produce astounding aircraft that I get immense enjoyment from, and it looks as if the Starship is shaping up to be a yet another very impressive addon.

Well, if this thing flies only half as good as it looks I’ll be very happy.

A great looking simulation of a fantastic looking aircraft.

Starship is also going to take into account debris sucked into the engines. From the manual;

This aircraft simulates damage caused to turbine engines by ingestion of particulate matter, better known as foreign object debris, or “FOD”. FOD can include dust, sand, gravel, ice, etc., and is typically associated with operating on unimproved runways. The amount of damage caused by the FOD is calculated based on which of the 25 recognizable surface types the aircraft is currently operating on, the thrust of the propeller, and the position of the inertial separator vanes. In order to prevent damage, be sure to use the inertial separators whenever operating on unimproved surfaces, including all ground operations, and whenever ice is present.

Even with inertial seps I think I'll avoid unpaved runways with this one.  Wow!   That's really neat.
