June 9, 2025Jun 9 Hi folks. I have been pulling my hair out for three days just from trying to set up bindings and save the profiles. I could not get anything to work in SU3 with regards to saving/exporting/importing profiles. I went back to SU2 and things seemed to be working better. However, I will set up a profile, then export it to have a copy, but the next time I go in, the profile can no longer be found anywhere. And even though I have all of my profiles exported, when I try to import them, the "Import" function is grayed out. Can anyone help me sort any of this out? If I can't save and recall profiles, how am I supposed to get planes ready to fly? Please help if you can. Thanks. June 9, 2025Jun 9 I have this too, clearly a newly introduced bug in SU3 beta. Fixing it seems up to Asobo. For now, just export your working profiles and keep fingers crossed that they get it sorted.

Won't be an easy task but I already have a license for it, so what the hell LOL. June 9, 2025Jun 9 Its a total mess. Actually they never made any positive progress in terms of controller definition interface... The latest su3 made it even less Intuitive and functional and after purchasing the FSLabs 321 I was forced to downgrade to su2 in order to be able to define the controllers, and then install su3 again... But even if they fix that, the naming conventions are so unnatural and counter Intuitive that it is really a pita... June 9, 2025Jun 9 I'm glad it's just not me. I have 2020 and 2024, and have been trying to get used to 2024 as I know support for 2020 from MS/Asobo and 3rd party devs will be limited going forward, and will end at some point. The 2 things I really dislike about 2024 is the control setup and bindings, and the aggressive LOD. Hopefully things will improve soon.
June 9, 2025Jun 9 I've ditched Spad.Next now that I can configure different profiles with auto assignments directly in FS2024. It works pretty well. The annoying part is the inital learning curve. The program should have an in-game walkthrough and tutorial of the control settings interface. Matt Webb

The more you learn to use spad.next, the less you will ever want to use the sim controls. So powerful. Also nice having an actual backup on your machine. Not to mention bindings for same aircraft in 2020 are largely automatically working in 24, and likely the next sim. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next
June 9, 2025Jun 9 As a recent newcomer to 2024 the control bindings thing is a pita. I can't figure it out. Is this Spad.neXt simply software or is it a piece of hardware you must buy? I will never be accused of being the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to computers so I would need it to be relatively easy to use. Any more info would be gratefully received. Thanks.

It is a shame that Asobo screwed up the control setup so much in 2024 that some people have to buy a payware program to make it usable.

It's software that allows you to manage key bindings/axis and all sorts of other things. Streamdecks, switch panels. You basically use it to create profiles. So in theory you can not use the sim for anything other than the camera system. 5800X3D, 4090FE, 64GB DDR4 3600C16, Gigabyte X570S MB, EVO 970 M.2's, Alienware 3821DW and 2 22" monitors, Corsair RM1000x PSU, 360MM MSI MEG, MFG Crosswind, T16000M Stick, Boeing TCA Yoke/Throttle, Skalarki MCDU and FCU, Logitech Radio Panel/Switch Panel, Spad.Next

If you have a bunch of cockpit hardware modules I could see Spad.Nxt but if not, and once you've set up typical yoke/TQ buttons and so forth you won't be visiting the controller setup interface. It's really hard to explain short of the program manager tasked with this element has autism or is otherwise thinking very differently than the vast majority of people! No need for a payware program if you happen to stumble up on the right video or are otherwise able to figure it out yourself. Once you understand it though it all works and have yet to go back into it as the settings are retained and all works fine, including a reinstall of OS and sims and all settings were retained as expected. That's why I would say screw Spad.neXt it's just another interface you have to learn. And once you understand 2024's controller setup you don't typically need to revisit it anyway. June 9, 2025Jun 9 Unless something's radically changed in the new Beta, I'm going to say the control bindings work well, even if they're not intuitive. And before the UX Purity Brigade starts pounding keys, there's plenty of things we use every single day that aren't self describing, intuitive experiences. Like Windows, Mac OS, and ChromeOS themselves. And if you don't agree, then you have obviously never tried to teach your parents/in laws how to use them. 😂 So, whats necessary in this case is a bit of research and perhaps, gasp! some reading followed by poking about with the interface 😁 There are at least a handful of YouTube tutorials specifically focused on bindings. And IMHO, it's quite a powerful system once it clicks. I'd never go back to 2020s setup. And I use the native binding in all the sims I fly, have dozens of add-ons, and haven't yet run into a situation where I need anything more than what comes with the game / addon. June 9, 2025Jun 9 I'll admit I'm not that sharp in the brain department but had my controls set up in a couple hours back in January. When I hear of these tragic setupup issues it makes me feel special. 😁
