I have found on more than one occasion if I have blank screens, scratch my head for a minute or two then remember, “…is gauge enabled”? Invariably they are not and a click on enable brings them back to life post haste. -B

I was having the same issue but found that a gradual increase in power along with right rudder will keep the plane tracking straight. As the power increases, more right rudder is needed. Hope this helps. Needing right rudder when taking off in a typical single engine GA prop aircraft is common in real world flying. https://www.boldmethod.com/learn-to-fly/aerodynamics/4-left-turning-tendencies/ Edited July 4, 2025Jul 4 by ark
July 4, 2025Jul 4 Came across some interesting comments on FB: “Well, I got this plane and.... I like it. I actually dislike the real thing, mostly due to being a mechanic on three P-210s and to say everything is packed into that nose would be an understatement. To change the oil filter you have to remove the intercooler for one thing, and access to vital fuel connections is through tini tiny access panels and the connection is one foot from that panel. It did not help that most of the owners were shall we say, pricks. The P210s we worked on always seemed to have cooling issues as well, but now I think about it, I think it may have been the owners. It does not help, a friend of mine was killed flying a T210 when the badly installed turbo let go and pumped a torch of flame into the cockpit, literally burning my friend alive as the plane plummeted. So yea, me and 210s are not on the best of terms. That said, I DO like this model. People were complaining about the sounds. From my experience from running these full bore on the ground for maintenance checks, the sounds are not that far off. The engine DOES sound like that. This is not a small 4 banger like on a 172, this is a big Continental swinging a HUGE propeller. The idle sound is also not too bad, if a bit too quiet. You can really hear the exhaust note from inside the cabin of the real thing. My flight was an instrument flight from Hayward Ca. to Santa Rosa. Cruise altitude 6000 ft. The start up sound is all wrong I will say. It sounds like starting a bendix geared started like on a Lycoming. The continental is a direct drive motor that you really do not hear at all. You just hear the engine ticking over before the first belch. Taxiing was fun and brought back memories of taxing the real thing. They really do bob like that on the nose wheel, and the sense of the sheer weight of that nose is very evident. Take off was performed in accordance with the manual, below red line on MAP, and 2700 rpm. one notch flaps used. Aircraft took off fine with half tanks and weight of one person. Upon reaching 1000 agl, power was reduced to 30 inches and 2500 rpm, which gave us a 700 fpm rate of climb at 140 IAS. Cruise was at 28 inches and 2300 rpm. This resulted in 150 TAS, @ 6000 ft, with a fuel burn of 16 gph. This closely matches what is in the manual's performance figures for standard temp at 6000 ft. Approach and landing was pretty simple, about what I have heard about this plane from the owners. Shock cooling is an issue with this plane so decents are made with the prop pulled back to the bottom of the green and power is reduced very gradually during decent. Gear is used to slow the plane down after achieving 160 kts. around 130 the first notch of flaps was lowered, and the prop was set to full. Approach was done at 80 IAS with full flaps, and touch down was easy. Instrumentation seemed fine. Manifold pressure gauge worked fine, the GEM looked like all those I have personally flown with, and the navigation GPS worked good. The autopilot altitude and VS buttons are odd in that it says PIT, opposed to VS. (The new Dakota does this too). One thing missing was the sound of the gear rolling and thumping along. Now, sound. From the video a person posted here, they were going along with the prop full forward and turning 2700 rpm, and full power. In actuality if you did that, the engine would make a lot of noise and then cease to make any noise. LOL. You don't cruise at full power ever, and you pull the prop back to 2500 rpm with a MP of 30 inches once above 1000 ft AGL. I found the sounds much what I would expect in such a plane. It sounds nothing like a vacuum cleaner as one complainer said. Another complaint was the breakers didn't work. Well, on this test I found this also to be untrue. I tested the taxi light, flaps, and radio breakers and all affected their associated systems. (Did this person complaining actually try out this aircraft?) For the price range this is a very nice addition in my opinion, and like I said I am not even very fond of the 210, but I am keeping this one. Hope this helps you consider getting this model and thank you for reading.” i910900k, RTX 3090, 32GB DDR4 RAM, AW3423DW, Ruddy girt big mug of Yorkshire Tea
