Waiting for this, which was posted on their forum a couple of hours ago.

The Baron and Bonanza will be the first of the Professional Series, so hopefully within the next couple of months. They are all done except paint and sounds, both of which are well underway. There was lots of excitement about these aircraft at Flight Sim Expo, which has given me a renewed excitement for them, as well!

Wow...that's crazy fast! The amount of work he pumps out is insane. I was totally assuming it would be a year or two. I almost wish it was because I'll barely have time to get acquainted w/ Starship before they're here!

  • I'd say they're neck and neck frankly.   I love both devs and will insta buy anything they produce.

If by old stuff you mean the original bo and Baron - that stuff used the 2020 default aircraft - therefore the new versions are totally from scratch - black square will not be updating those older versions.

We all know that.

As i said, im not interested in a Twin Commander or other new stuff until i have a good BS Baron, Bonanza, Caravan and King Air in my Hangar.

What i do not understand is, why not bringing these as the new versions on the market again before spending resources on new aircraft.

Yes please, day 1 purchase for me...

Much more interested in a Twin-comm than the old stuff rehashed.

Well, that's pretty much what he's doing. The Baron, Bonanza, and Caravan are next in line for release. He's always managed multiple projects at once, and even if they were all finished already, he wouldn't release them right now since the Starship has only been out for two weeks or so. It is a business, after all.

Just to be clear, I'm also waiting anxiously for the updated Bonanza (and to a lesser extent, the Baron which I don't currently have but will definitely add with the update).  I love the current Bo and fly it more than any other piston single, but after experiencing the Dukes I can hardly wait to have the Bo updated to that level.  And then there's the turbine conversion!  However, despite MY preferences, I still get why he's more recently focused on bringing completely new models to the table to add new customers and broaden his appeal, and I respect his decisions.

For my part, I'm just happy to have someone who has the obvious passion he has, coupled with the mad development skills he obviously possesses, bringing us so many top-tier GA aircraft all while still looking after his installed base with updates, even if the pace doesn't satisfy everyone.

The amount of high quality work this guy puts out simply amazes me.

It's happening. The Bonanza, Caravan and Baron are all being updated to 2024 with heaps of new features. Patience grasshopper...

Pretty sure those are New Builds, tho...right?

The implication being they'll be paid add-ons and not upgrades...?

Yes.  They pretty much have to be for 2024 since the old ones were modifications to default 2020 planes rather than from-scratch new models.  To support '24 AND to bring the planes to the standards of his later efforts, starting over from a blank sheet of paper was the only practical approach.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that there were discounts planned for existing customers but I'm not sure where I saw that.  Probably in one of the discussions on the JF forums.

Okay, cool. That was my impression, and I agree with your perspective on it, as well. 👍

Best flying and landing GA aircraft in a sim,  I have ever flown, Blacksquare Turbine Duke.

because you are not in sales or marketing?  those others (Duke, Bonanza, Baron, KingAir) will be their best selling anyway. same reason why on pop concerts the bands usually play newer or less popular titles first, the greatest hits always come last.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

Nice! They always make great stuff. Might skip this one since I've already bought a plane yesterday haha. BUT I can't wait for their updates to the Bonanza. Professional series etc. This Commander plane is pretty cool though

Exactly the reason why i bring the best selling pieces first when i want to make some budget for the next projects.

Its not a movie where the boss fight comes at the end 🙂
