"People have more time on the weekend to spend on the sim" Not this guy, My only plan was to fly a specific aircraft this weekend. Now I will not be spending any time in the sim at all this weekend, I can go do other things. Seems like you are using SU3 beta as a normal release. But it's a beta. You will be updated to whatever version the beta is on. I think you're better off staying with SU2. The beta is not for you if you have specific requirements, including not wanting them to release a beta build on Friday. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

July 19, 2025Jul 19 Can't see any difference to the previous beta? It's fine so stop messing with it Asobo or you'll break it again...
July 19, 2025Jul 19 Yesterday I got that "Loading 97%..." that never ends experience 😕 It was after I pushed 1.5.18.0 Decision? Reinstalled FS 2024, and until SU3 goes **final** I will use **only default** aircraft / scenery / weather / ATC / AI Traffic... Just plain FS 2024. When it turns final release I will poor in FSLabs, Fenix, ..... Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
July 19, 2025Jul 19 97% stuck was ALWAYS due to an incompatible addon in my case. Never due to another reason... so it might be simply an SU3 incompatible one, no need to always fully reinstall... In particular, it is now properly enforced to 1000% when entering the bounding sphere. THE BIGGEST reason I am currently an XP12 user is the culling of other aircraft when they should still be visible. In XP12, an aircraft is visible, regardless how small it is. Airborne traffic can be hard to spot, but it IS ALWAYS DRAWN in XP12, where in 2024 you will see an aircraft culled when it is still easily visible. I fly GA in the sim and it is important to look out for other traffic - XP12 gives me that important part of GA flying. I saw the phrase 'bounding spere' and wondered if this meant the viewing distance of other traffic had been improved - nope, did a test flight in skies where other traffic is not visible that SHOULD BE. July 19, 2025Jul 19 Is SU3 Beta still logging data and affecting performance? I installed SU3 beta perhaps mid week and the last two flights I have done in the Fenix have had a loss of FPS after perhaps an hour. Same route Helsinki to Dublin. System is 7800x3D, 64 Gb DDR5 6000 C30 memory, RTX 5090. FPS currently showing 52 at 36000 feet over the English Channel. Thats with 2x FG enabled. Last night it dropped to 20. Even changing to lowest settings failed to bring back performance. CPU and GOU usage not overly excessive. What you mentioned has been disabled after SU3 Beta v1.5.8, in the v1.5.9 of June 20th. For your specific performance issue, I suggest you clean as much thing as you can (DirectX cache, local cache, sceneryindexes...) Source: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/1-5-9-0-has-telemetry-been-removed/726854/10 Ill give it a try, the strange thing is performance is great at first even with BATC running. Has happened on a different route over Europe too after about an hour. I tend to avoid deleting cache because weirdly despite it all being nVidia folders it signs me out all Facebook and many websites. A month ago I downloaded one of those cache removal mods from Flightsim.to and from that point on Ive been having performance issues after an hour with the Fenix. That link says memory logging not enabled for 1.5.9, we are now on .18 could it have been enabled again? If we are talking about the same, I run away from that kind of batch file/tool that claims administrator's rights and that - at the end of the day - don't know of what they really do or can do by mistake. It's look like the syndrome of "I launch this tool it's one click promise and we'll see". I'm old school and delete manually what I know can be deleted and restored if needed. 42 minutes ago, cj-ibbotson said: That link says memory logging not enabled for 1.5.9, we are now on .18 could it have been enabled again? No, based on intel shared in the official forum. Edited July 19, 2025Jul 19 by vbazillio Vincent B. Perhaps during daylight they do not stand out, but based on what I am seeing during a dawn/dusk or night flight planes are definitely out there. Ken

I agree. I'm hoping that a third party dev can sort it or that Asobo will add a setting for the user to adjust the view distance. The sim is now performing so extraordinarily well I can afford to loose a few fps.

Obviously for some reason you are not. Another MSFS mystery... Enjoy your XP experience. Ken
