If we are talking about the same, I run away from that kind of batch file/tool that claims administrator's rights and that - at the end of the day - don't know of what they really do or can do by mistake. It's look like the syndrome of "I launch this tool it's one click promise and we'll see". I'm old school and delete manually what I know can be deleted and restored if needed. No, based on intel shared in the official forum. Strangely I have not been logged out of websites, BBC, Facebook, Dropbox to mention some. I normally delete cache folders manually and have shortcuts saved on my desktop. Links I have are: D3DSCache - C:\Users\cjibb\AppData\Local\D3DSCache DXCache - C:\Users\cjibb\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\DXCache GLCache - C:\Users\cjibb\AppData\Local\NVIDIA\GLCache LocalCache - C:\Users\cjibb\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache\SceneryIndexes I have cleared those, deleted my Rolling Cache after reverting to SU2. I'm simply saying I see aircraft all over the place, at least during the dawn or dusk hours, and especially at night, so I don't know why you're not seeing other aircraft. Obviously for some reason you are not. Another MSFS mystery... Enjoy your XP experience. I do see other aircraft, but not outside a small bubble around the aircraft. If I park myself at Heathrow a departing aircraft will be culled when still more than big enough to be drawn. Forget seeing flashing lights in the distance, I am talking about the aircraft itself - do you see these during the day? For GA flying XP12 is fantastic, MSFS can't touch it as far as other visible traffic that can be seen and avoided. Maybe AI traffic can be seen further out, but I'm only interested in skies full of real live traffic. I do see some aircraft during daylight hours. On a recent flight this week I was surprised to glance out my left window and see a plane flying at about the same altitude as myself on a parallel track with a speed slightly faster than mine. It stayed in view for quite some time before beginning a descent to an airport. And, I see the occasional aircraft flying below or above me on a crossing path. Obviously though these instances would not be enough to satisfy your need to see aircraft on a constant basis, so you are better off at this time sticking with your XP flights, as they seem to have more of what you are searching for or require for the immersion level you seek. Have fun! Ken

July 21, 2025Jul 21 As a VR user, this build increased popping with less detailed scenery while not improving FPS. Not sure if it’s possible, but wouldn’t it better to provide a setting to allow users to control the LOD curve, instead of a one size fits all for all the different GPU and headset combinations?

It is still possible to disable the new "parabolic" LOD management from the Developer mode. I don't know if the possibility will remain in the final version though. 7800X3D | 2x32 GB DDR5-6000 CL32 | RTX 5080 | Alienware OLED 34" | 1 Gbps fiber

As already pointed out in the other forum, in real life other traffic is really hard to spot, especially from a greater distance, all depending on weather conditions and size of the nearby traffic of course. Yes, traffic can be very hard to see in real life, and it can be very hard to see in XP12 too - the SIM is very accurate in this regard. I have looked for traffic in XP12 that was close, but I never saw it. I have seen traffic further away because the lighting, aircraft colour and background colour allowed it to be seen, just as in real life. The important point is XP12 draws it at any distance, not culling it due to LOD. I use the term skies full of traffic because XP12 draws traffic at any distance, not culling it due to LOD. Just as it should be, traffic in XP12 can be hard to spot. LiveTraffic plugin allows labels to be shown next to all traffic. I fly without the labels on for realism. I have the settings to show up to 50 aircraft in a 20 mile radius. If I turn the labels on, I see the sky is full of drawn traffic. I have searched for traffic and failed, turned on the labels and have seen an aircraft very small and hard to spot, but it IS THERE, not culled as it would be in MSFS. Yes, I have been in a real aircraft, flying out of Elstree in the UK and Panshanger before it was closed - I know how difficult it can be to see other traffic CPU Ryzen 7800X 3D RAM 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 6000MHz GPU GEFORCE RTX 4090 Monitor AOC AGON AG352UCG UltraWide G-Sync @ 3440x1440 Internal Storage 1TB NVMe PCIe SSD External Storage Three 4Tb HDs

I believe it is a little better in SU3, I’ve been seeing aircraft drawn further away than before, but I understand your point and agree. MSFS LoDs are still being refined and I can’t say that I think it’s perfect. I think they are making good progress and I expect this won’t be an issue in some time, but right now, I would want them to keep making it better! 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen
July 22, 2025Jul 22 I thought that SU3 might come out of beta today and be available to everyone. Still time, I suppose but from what I've been reading, it doesn't sound far away. They may as well try to make it better in this beta now they have started it. The last changes were reversed apparently due to performance. They may as well go again and try to find another way, as gear disappearing on traffic just after take off isn't brilliant, and likewise, they could do with investigating why runway/taxiway signage doesn't seem to be responding to LOD adjustments; it seems to be locked outside of the usual set of objects for that, and doesn't seem to respond to anything. Other than that and a few longer term issues that maybe will be looked at in SU4, it is not too bad and like you say, nearly baked hopefully. After I made a few tweaks to my setup last night, I was pleasantly surprised. Edited July 22, 2025Jul 22 by bobcat999 Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).
