MSFS official forums is absurd !

Featured Replies

I dont think i ever saw such behavior and censorship in the flight sim community, or any other community TBH, as in the official MSFS forums.

I am considering deleting my account there.

Unfortunately, pretty close. And more to the nature of being blocked. Different developer tactics when you express opinions that don't fit their agenda.  Critical opinions, pointing out bugs, by paying customers or pilots, are an inconvenience to the narrative and need to be suppressed at any cost. And people don't get it, they have become open ATM machines for these unprofessional entities. Luckily, we have some good customer-oriented developers who have earned a good reputation and deserve every penny.

I've had my account locked several times for merely mentioning FRG accidentally when discussing an issue and stating the settings I'm using.  They don't seem to like humour either.

Seems it's really a culture coming from up top.

It's been times moderators even messaged me saying "yes it's quite a silly call/moderation action that they personally don't agree with but they are told to enforce it".

The official forums are best enjoyed being logged out and not even bothering to engage.🤣

To be honest the MSFS forums a bit of an echo chamber for negativity at the moment. Admittedly that isn't difficult given the state of the sim for a lot of people but you have to be careful to not let it affect your own mindset. I check in every so often now but it's fast becoming the same threads being bumped with the same opinions that were voiced months ago.

If I were an Asobo dev I wouldn't dare read those forums or I'd become ridiculously depressed.

I think the censorship / banning at the PMDG forum is much worse, especially with Kok there now. Guy can’t retire fast enough from flightsim.

It's their own forum though - they can do what they like.

I don't think it's that dramatic.  Sometimes threads just get moved or merged into a duplicate topic.  And people think they're deleted.

I don't go there very often though.  The organization is lacking.

I actually don't mind the official forum. There are very few immature posts, and it's nice to just log in, find what you're looking for, and log off.

I stopped visiting it early MFS 2020 because it was kind of useless...

From time to time I look at posts there, specially in the dev support forums, but usually a waste of time.

Never had problems there though...

To give a small example among many others, they have a topic with polls when users vote how the sim works for them.
I asked: why are the votes hidden ? Got about 5 likes from others and then the post deleted.

It’s really like they are trying hard to hide the state of the game/sim.
