I think a lot of posts are merged and stupid ones are deleted and rightly so. It's not a place for those with big egos who like to be heard. I just use it for aircraft news and information. I learnt something very useful about the HU-16 just this morning so, it definitely has its uses. 

It is one of the worst product forum tbh. And on top I think that it is also absolutely ridiculous that they can ban paying customers. It is like you buy a Volkswagen Tiguan and then you are not allowed to enter any Volkswagen Garage anymore because you once said that the Tiguan has things you do not like. 

I know it is their forums and they can make the rules as they want, but actively stopping paying customers of their product to use the official forum is just a plain no-go. 

Those forums are guided by primitive rules and by people who have zero experience on how to handle queries. I stopped going there long long ago, i felt like my IQ was getting lower each thread i read.

Yes i criticize that as well. 
 

They simply hired all kind of streamers to handle the forums with a group of volunteers. 

Thankfully the sim is 180º off the track of the support forums, progressing so well and providing me with such unique experiences of feeling like being there as never before in **ANY** other flightsim that I can perfectly forget about how useless those forums are, even the Dev Support forums which are the ones I tried to visit more often in MFS 2020 times...

With that said, i think FS2020 is much more progressed than 2024 at this point. It will take some good amount of SU to bring it back to 2020 state. I find this very odd 

While I sympathise, it really is a case of "their ball - their rules", and they run it how they want. 
You simply have to accept that if you want to play in their playground. 
It's as simple as that, and there is absolutely no point complaining about it.

I am not saying I totally agree with their attitude, but there is nothing anyone can do to change the way it is.

I go there for the odd bit of useful information or commentary, but I tend not to comment there myself these days, because if you don't get stifled by the mods, there is always some bonehead that wants to argue with you over the most innocuous comment - such is life these days.

The same type of rules apply at Avsim of course, except they don't really have a product to defend, so people are free to criticise MSFS or anything else along those lines as long as it stays within the bounds of decency and potential libel issues.  I think the moderation spot on here compared to there.

SU3 introduced a bug with LODs in VR.  It severely affects the PMDG 777s.  Someone (not me) found a workaround.  Kok made a post showing how to do the workaround in dev mode and did not cite the original discoverer, but he got it wrong and showed the wrong setting in his post.  I made a nice post (not mean or anything), highlighting the correct selection.  I made screenshots in VR, showing the setting on and off, with the effect on the VR cockpit.  I suggested he fix his post, which was sticky'd.

Came back in a few days to see if any comments.  He fixed his post.  No credit to me.  And the SOB deleted my post!  Gone.  No reference.  It was even gone from my post history.

That guy needs to retire and just go somewhere else and yell at kids to get off his lawn.

Yes, PMDG is worse than the official forums.

I use mostly Discord for info on most of my add-ons and aircraft, for quick, reliable info. I never use the FS official forum. total waste of time IMO.

Yeah, comments like this make me wonder why....people get blocked, banned or deleted etc. PMDG forums are just fine. Sometimes they annoy me, too. Sometimes, they don't delete or ban enough people. The 777 does have an issue with LODs when you zoom away with the drone view. Thats true. Not severely. It still flies just fine and no issues in the cockpit. 

Maybe it depends on the nature of the discussion? I've been active on/off in the official forums for years without any issues but then again, I can see why some do. I was pointing out flaws/issues with default or payware planes and never got banned etc. I think its important to be respectful. Even on the PMDG forums. Avsim as well. Though you won't find better help on any forum than avsim to be frank. Despite its shortcomings and negativity from a select group of people (ignore button is amazing) its pretty good. 

SU3 works really well for the overwhelming majority of us and this I feel like this thread is going to derail into another bout of negativity. 

If you need help then ask for help. 

And the alternative is this forum, which is full of ridiculous rants that derail almost every topic. I’d rather have strict moderation and members following the rules than clicking on topics only to read OT posts unrelated to the discussion.

As i mentioned, they are keeping their polls results hidden from the public, so its impossible to back such claim.

Agree. There are 2 sides to every story, and everyone who has been banned from a forum somewhere will always claim they are completely innocent, much like prisons worldwide where every inmate would claim they did nuffin' wrong.
