//42 release Fishing Simulator add-on (for real !)

Featured Replies

Rather than MSFS 2024 versions of Flow or Chaseplane it appears that //42s next release is a Go Fish a fishing simulator add-on for Avatar mode in MSFS 2024 SU4.

It's currently available to Club 42 members and presumably will go on general release shortly.

Honestly it feels like an April Fool that's been release 5 1/2 month early but it looks like they are serious....

  • Just because they released something you don't like? That's silly.

  • Awesome idea, I’ll definitely give this a try. It’s funny how people use airline career add-ons and follow strict schedules to add purpose to their flight simming, but the moment something fun exists

As you all (hopefully) know, we have been grinding away on ChasePlane and Flow for MSFS 2024, rethinking systems, and pushing hard on features that we are excited to bring and improve on. Whilst rewarding, it's intense work.

Somewhere along the way, we needed a breather and something to help us reenergise. Day after day of looking at the same code, loading in and out of the sim to test iterative builds was starting to wear us down. Don’t get me wrong, ChasePlane and Flow are exciting projects and will be delivered, but as they say, “a change is as good as a holiday.””

“Don’t worry, ChasePlane and Flow remain front and center in our path to MSFS 2024. But sometimes, great ideas happen when you step away for a moment, and we think you’ll enjoy this one.”

Thanks for sharing this. The full post is here, talking about why we did this https://parallel42.com/blogs/news/release-42-gofish-for-msfs-2024

I think its a cool idea. Flying around fishing would interest me.

Don't have 2024, but I've heard its getting close to a release state now - so maybe I'll get it at a discount soon. It's been a year after release...
So I'll keep this one in mind...

They must be looking to hook some new customers?  😐

I love their passion for bush flying and own all of their products in that category. But I don’t see this one selling well. I wish they would get all of their existing scenes converted to 2024. It’s been a year and only four have been redone. And there hasn’t been a new one released in 2024.

I feel like they spread themselves too thin between a lot of unrelated products including American Truck Simulator now too. But my guess is that their bush related products don’t pay the bills and they use Chaseplane, Flow and SimFX (MSFS 2020) to subsidize their passion for bush related projects.

It's just a simulation so you can't actually eat your catch.  😇

ChasePlane in 2024 is a must for me after using it in 2020...    Was hoping it would be a relatively quick release after 2020 but definitely not the case...

I mean I get it that it was a break and a release from staring at the same code but there are plenty of times I would like to go do something else instead of finishing the task at hand and "personally" I'd have preferred they kept staring at the same code and got it done opposed to a fishing add-on but that is just my personal opinion.

Awesome idea, I’ll definitely give this a try. It’s funny how people use airline career add-ons and follow strict schedules to add purpose to their flight simming, but the moment something fun exists for VFR pilots, some folks act like it’s a crime against humanity😄

But is the fishing study level? That’s what I want to know.
