5 years into MSFS and AI traffic has still a long way to go.

This video shows missing "gear down" on most AI aircraft when landing.

Will it ever be fixed by MS/ASOBO?

We have to be relentlessly pushing them to fix this…

Nope, you should straight away head for XP12 and never return you'll only be miserable.   No question missing gear on fake traffic will totally ruin the otherwise absolutely fabulous experience in MSFS 2024.

Really, really doesn't bother me at all. MSFS has much bigger fish to fry.

Beside the issue of the raised gear on landing, there are still too many AIG traffic comptroller crashes, sometimes four or five times in one flight, and I really feel sorry for the AIG team for they get absolutely neither sympathy nor support from Asobo for what they are doing, this has been an issue apparently related to Simconnect from day one and still goes on.

This is not a bug from MS perspective, but optimization (at user request, should be added, because 75 FPS with a stutter is unflyable and kills immersion). Yesterday I got a wind farm only appearing from 2 miles away, even at max LOD 🙄

Making aircraft land and take off into wind on the active runway would be a great start along with stoping heavy jets flying around the countryside at 500 feet.

This is why I gave up airliner flying and use only GA and corporate aircraft in the sim.  Never mind real world major airports have turned into nothing more than glorified Greyhound Bus stations aka 'Poop show' (no class, long TSA lines, people flying with pajamas on, fighting, etc), the glory years can still be had with private and GA.  That being said, having AI interactions at major airports subpar to what we had in FS9/FSX is a no go for me. This far into Asobo's development of both 2020 and 2024, this should have been address and fully resolved a long time ago.😔

What's amazing is people seem fine with it based on some of these posts above.  "There's bigger fish to fry" with 2024 which is one heck of a statement concerning the state of the 2024 a year after release.😐

The absence of an acceptable good AI engine and ATC, apart from some other important issues like performance improvements and memory optimisation, were the causes of my surprise when I first saw the announcement of a new sim, thereafter known as MSFS2024, still with so many issues, that switched the priority over the new version, instead of make further progress into MSFS2020 at a faster pace.

Apart from that, in my opinion, the business model to approach the launch of MSFS2024 has been a total failure for Microsoft.

There are a couple of options (some of them are pricey) to obtain both ATC and reliable commercial and business traffic in both sims, 20/24.

As I first started reading this I thought you were going to say, 'There are a couple of options that may be pricey, get your real world private or commercial license and you'll have proper traffic to fly in'.  After years of these kinds of responses I was sure this was where you were headed.🤪

Like it's been mentioned - It's worth posting your thoughts and further evidence of it in this thread: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/t/too-strict-lod-rule-on-aircraft-landing-gears/709715/ and maybe also bringing it up in a Q&A dev stream.

Time and money.

Lets say they put some manpower into the issue, (which is money) and they solve the issue, is it then going to suddenly bring in a second wave of sales for them, No if course it isnt.   So why would they do it.

In the August kids school holidays when the servers have issues, do they put money into it, no, again would the money spent on servers bring in much new revenue from sales, no.  So why would they do it

That L1 door issue has also been there 5 years, Aboso pass it to WT, WT shrug their shoulders. again  would the money spent on man hours to fix the issue yield them some magic new money from sales, no.  So they wont do it.

Secondly, they would also have to admit to having an issue with Planes with no wheels, servers that pack up in August and Jettys that attach to the wrong door, (to mention just 3 of the many bugs there is in the sim, and thats before we start to talk about vram for example.)

Again admitting your product has numerous issues that going to effect any more new potential sales, and this is a market of kids buying the game with a pass or with a key playing for a few months then going back to Minecraft, with a steam rating of under 50 percent.

Do i agree with the above, no I dont, but ive been around long enough to know its about making money and not spending it, and that ship sailed last year when they released way too early.  You can believe all their roadmaps, zoom calls they do etc, but at the end of the day theres people above them looking at a spreadsheet with sales on it and every day that goes by,  that number gets lower and lower until you rebrand and bring in the next sim.

I hate to break it to you, ill be amazed if the wheels get fixed. maybe im wrong time will tell

The market has changed. It's no longer that niche simmers market of p3d, which had less users than farming simulator

it's now the gamers market of twitch streams, quick money from the marketplace and half baked products to satisfy a younger market who use it casually for a bit and then move on
