I've decided not to check the PMDG site.  I'd rather read about the price here, with the ensuing drama and entertainment that will come with it! 😄

It's a 737, that has always had the deepest system simulation on the home market, so I really don't understand what more people are expecting.

It's not like they built this from the ground up, like they want to claim. This would not be possible with their usual work pace. A ground up project for them usually takes about 3-5 years.

 

So in light of what they actually DID work on and improve, for this specific version, how would they still justify prices in the 70 dollar range for new customers? 

They bank in on work that has been done by them a decade ago.

And the 2020 one works mostly fine in 2024 with the spawning on the runway work around.

The biggest issue is that the walk around mode that Asobo forces you to start in when spawning parked breaks the WASM, which is why spawning on the runway mostly works.

While I did quote your question, you should take my remark as more of a general one towards all the people that wrote something about 17z in the last half an hour and not a specific reaction to your question.

 

17z means 9 local time for PMDG. So basically 17z was the earliest time because that is when their office opens. I'd expect something around 20z, right before or after lunch break.

I do love flying in the sim.

But I also love reading passionate, sometimes controversial threads on AVSIM. Where tribes do battle and only valor wins the day!

How do you know people didn't read that it said after 17z?

If it's anytime from 17z, then people will naturally start to anticipate the news from .... 17z.

Some of us love to make sweeping generalisations about members here (usually involving everyone else being pretty unclever, while the poster is of a higher level of cleverness).

It's like people moaning about this thread being 18 pages long.  Forums are for information, communication and entertainment.  What exactly is the problem with a very busy, popular thread, about something a lot of people are anticipating?   For one, it drives a lot of traffic for AVSIM.   

A good thing surely.
