MSFS 2024 native A2A Comanche - out now

I’ve no idea what’s different about this version or how it benefits me, but I’ve bought it anyway as everyone else seems excited about it 🙂Plus I found I had 45 points sat on my account doing nothing.

Agree with Urgent above.  In the first place, there's nothing at all wrong with the roll behavior when banging the yoke to the limit - that's exactly what a light airplane does.  I hate to say it, but

I got mine, but haven't had a chance to use MSFS yet. Before; however, I remember Scot outlined some new features available to 2024 exclusively.

Hehe nice

I think it has dual GTN options, a different AP option, it also has default Garmin G5 option.  I'm going to try to mod it to use the FSW beech sierra's G5 though

Thanks, I’ve not flown the Comanche in a while but it was always a firm favourite of mine going back to P3D days so I’m sure I’ll enjoy it. I’ll probably install tomorrow post turkey.

On Christmas Eve too! Downloading now, but it's slow. Santa's server must be overloaded.

Surely not everybody was kung fu fighting.

I doubt you will see much different.

But with future updates I believe we will be better served with a real 2024 version

These words are echoing in my head, causing pain to every cell of my body 🫠

The question now is, am I so impatient that I pay $49.99, or do I try and grow a single cell of this stuff they call 'patience'.

Much better spent on the AeroStar or one of the new Black Square birds 🙂

Funny thing I just bought it for $14.99 (loyalty discount in checkout) but my card was charged $49.99. Now site is all locked up trying to get to support.

Same thing just happened to me. I added my "A2A Flying Hours" discount to my discounted price but was charged the full price. I'm confident this will get ironed out quickly. After all, it's A2A...

Does anyone know if the paid commanche livery pack work on the native 2024 version?

I was going to say I'll let this pass, since I already have a good plane. But some of the features are tempting. I'll wait until next year week; I've already exhausted all my sim budget for this year.

As always, my biggest concern with these 2024-updated models.

Set against these experiences, bought without incident, existing owner's discount applied without incident,
flying hours discount applied without incident, downloaded without incident and installed without incident.

So it was all without incident?   Is that what you're hinting at?

I have them all!  😎👍  I don't think there are any high end GA aircraft I haven't bought for 2024!

A short TL:DR summary of the changes in this 2024 native version:-

  • 2024 native modular structure and LODs
  • Full 2024 walkaround with flight surfaces, doors, etc, all now movable on the walkaround.
  • Options for dual GTN / GNSD installs (this doesn't really appeal to me.  1 x GTN is enough in a $90k plane!)
  • Narco RNAV system fitted (similar to Black Square)
  • STEC-901 GPSS unit*

*Now, this is not a new autopilot, and there is no alternative autopilot with this version - we're stuck with the STEC-30. What this STEC-901 is, is a GPSS module, that allows the digital signal from the GNS/GTN to be sent into the STEC-30 as a heading signal.    This means that - for the first time in the Comanche - you can activate the new "HDG/GPSS" button in the cockpit (while the STEC-30 AP is in heading mode - not NAV) and the plane will fly your full GPS flight plan, with all full turns and procedural stuff.  This also adds lateral LPV capability.

I'd have preferred an alternative (better!) AP but this is basically why I am buying it!  It drives me mad not being able to have the STEC-30 follow my full flight plan!   My buddy added the same STEC-901 GPSS interface into his Beech Sierra IRL.

So, with this, your Comanche becomes fully GPSS and LPV (lateral only!) capable.
