MSFS 2024: Sim Update 5 Beta (1.7.6.0) Out

Featured Replies

I noticed two AI planes yesterday that were parked next to each other. One had nose gear and main gear visible. The other was floating like a land speeder from Star Wars. They were both the same distance from my aircraft. I only use the AIG planes.

You comment away all you want Ken.  Don't let people shut you down.  They just want to live in their own echo chamber and constantly use straw man arguments and insults to try to make you feel ashamed

  • A lot of good stuff in this beta though I was hoping we would see some effort towards fixing ATC and AI aircraft behaviour which should really have been sorted this long after release.

The size of the aircraft also seems to determine at what distance it happens as well

It is also worth noting that this is not exclusively an AI problem. Static aircraft lose their wheels beyond a certain distance, and so does the user's plane!!

Well, i was pumped to finally catch a live traffic T38 landing only to find its approach speed about 110 knots lol! Silly me for trying a formation landing haha

I guess not losing sleep over ai is the ticket lol

Do you recall the Airline and aircraft type?  Might be worth looking for the files and see what is different about it that specific aircraft?

All my AIG models hover, no exceptions.

Hmmm … interesting, I’ll have to test that out.  I usually remove all static aircraft when possible since I use PSXT + LiveTraffic subscription … also haven’t checked my own aircraft at a distance, will give that a test.

I really wish someone at Asobo would chime in so we’re not wasting our time on this … a simple “yes it’s our issue” or “no, it’s your models issue and this is how you fix it” … anyone got any sort of pull with Asobo dev team?  Anyone?  Can I toss money at you to get some sort of response?  Please! 🙂

So true, look at pmdg 737-800 and you'll notice the LOD downgrade we received for 2024. Watch it on a static drone camera passing you by and see how it start to loose nose gear, wingtips, engines, etc. Oh and this is pmdg's 737-800 update for 2024, 'cause my ported pmdg 737-800 for msfs 2020 in 2024 did not suffer from such horrendous LOD implementation.

I’ve run into a minor annoyance but I’m mentioning it to see if others agree. When I am selecting an aircraft and use my mouse to click the Configure button, nothing happens. I can hit the F key on the keyboard and that works. Anyone else seeing this?

This doesn not happen with iFly MAX 8 for example, it's a pmdg "thingy". Even though I have to admit that iFly is not fully ported to msfs 2024 and pmdg is. So maybe when iFly converts it to a full msfs 2024 model it could suffer from the same 2024 LOD issues as pmdg and ai traffic does, we'll see.

msfs running in full screen exclusive, not just windowed full screen?

I had similar issues even in previous final version if MSFS is not in exclusive full screen mode.that would also explain why it works for some, and not for others.

It's a problem with P42 Flow not beeing compatible with SU5 Beta. Just remove the folder p42-util-flow-pro from your community folder and everything should work.

Hi folks,

I saw a few questions earlier in this thread about this release note:

  • Removed weather panel humidity slider since humidity is no longer used.

We followed up with the Asobo dev team for clarification, and they let us know that the humidity slider in MSFS 2024 is a legacy feature from MSFS (2020). Due to changes in the weather system in MSFS 2024, this slider doesn't do anything anymore, so the UI element was removed. Atmospheric humidity is still part of MSFS 2024's weather depiction and simulation.

Thanks,

SeedyL, MSFS Community Manager

With SU4, the sim needs to be restarted after any changes to antialiasing, FG or max frame rate with my 5060TI.

Is it fixed in SU5?
