Early Access is a new thing and users pay their money and take their choice.

Early Access started on Steam in 2013, hardly "new" 🙂

It is always astonishing as some people fail to read properly or otherwise try to intentional descredit a certain product. BATC is Early access!!! So, if you buy it, you buy to test it or, if y

Did a flight CYVR-RJAA last night and it was great. Of course there’s tiny little things here and there - it’s a simulation at the end of the day. Arrival into Narita was a cool experience - I ha

Hello, This statement is incorrect. BeyondATC does take altitude into consideration, including with the older vectoring system that is currently used in the Early Access version. That said, this

I am really enjoying the new experimental BATC built. A huge step forward.

I can't confirm. I tested it for you just now and compare it to the arrivals I see on FR2024. I have my arrivals set to 8.  I currently  see 7 Aircraft lining up to final in real life. In the sim it's 4 and a 5th has just landed.

That seems about correct for a setting of 8.

I'm using the payware version of RPLL together with the enhancement file found on flightsim.to and have set my traffic to the winter schedule.

Hmm ok. I don't have my traffic on winter but I can try that next time. It just seems that Asia in general is not at all busy even with the sliders at 10

Uh all my airports are busy? Have been in a queue of 8 aircraft before takeoff yesterday at VHHH. If you hop on the Discord, we can take a look at your case.

Is your traffic on the winter setting?

Can't say I agree fully.  I think it is hit or miss.  I have all 3 models installed and max aircraft and  I still feel like traffic is slow at times when it shouldn't be at big airports.  Sometimes there aren't even a lot of parked airplanes.  Love the addon but I do hope they can make that more realistic.

I haven't tried BATC in the u.s as I use PSXT. But when I do, it's in areas where PSXT doesn't have good coverage, like the Philippines, china, and South Korea. Those airports just didn't appear to have that many movements even with the sliders at 10

I agree it's extremely difficult and explains why so few are available and in a decent state. Knowledge of trig is essential. Then you have phraseology for FAA and ICAO areas. I suppose that info might be available on the web these days. 20 years ago it wasn't.

Yes, I agree it's a choice. What I disagree with having to pay extra for a program that's probably less stable.

I'm sorry but there is. Alpha testing is usually done by the developer and new features can be added. Beta testing is where bugs are fixed and crucially, no new features are added. Release Candidate is available to buy and may include more obscure bug fixes. No new features.

"Early Access" is something that never existed 20 years ago. Developers just never went down that path.

Yes, I remember it but never tried it. I suspect the developer bit off more than he could chew or perhaps personal circumstances made it impossible for him to continue. Not responding to support requests did for him.

Is the aircraft movement on the ground just as difficult to implement? Such as how fast they taxi, turn and how fast they stop for example. Or even how they land and takeoff

We've been paid "beta testers" since 2020. So what? If you don't enjoy the hobby, there's always checkers. 😀

Yes. Of course typical holiday airports like on the Greek Islands are deserted, but big hubs (especially those in regions where there's no real "winter") should be as busy as always

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Alright I don't feel like joining the argument here between a site mod and the rest of the guys, just saying again that help can be found on Discord. You can also just tag me directly there (same username as here) and I can work that out with you in a separate thread. I'm not a dev, but a "power user" for 2 years and community helper, so I've seen a lot of things and quickly see the patterns.

Appreciate the help.  Honest question, my last flight just had the logs filled with "the application panicked" or something similar (I started a new flight and lost it).  Next flight is perfectly fine, so whatever it was, it is intermittent.

Is there anything that can be done with this intermittent kind of error?  Next time it happens, I can post in the discord, but this doesn't seem like the kind of thing that can be fixed.  Plus, I may as well wait for this new update to become the official release.  As a software developer, I know it isn't worth debugging an old build that's only going to get replaced.

Hmm. Ok. I could check again Tonight and see what it looks like at RPLL or VHHH.

VHHH definitely wasn't busy enough to have a line of planes for takeoff when I last checked.

I paid ($60) for EA and love it.  It is $30 for lifetime product.  BATC has regular updates and the product has improved with each update.  It is not a final product.  They are also responsive in discord.

I just hope they can eventually sync ATIS with Activesky.  AS works great with it otherwise.

No point asking me. I use Radar Contact v4 in P3D and it’s excellent.

Ah ok. Never used it. It's strictly ATC, not a traffic injector right?

Yes, because it's an ancient dead program with no relevance in 2026 🙂

Works for P3D. If you are stuck with that for some reason, I suppose you can use it.

I just decided to get BATC last night and had a hell of a time getting it working. Not exactly my fault or BATC's, since it was a network security issue.

Once resolved, I got it to connect. So, I've used ASFS since it first came out and had been wondering this morning about how to use the two together and what limitations there were.

Near as I can tell, BATC doesn't draw from ASFS, so they don't really work together? I sometime fly live and sometimes with historical weather for time shifting, and sometimes beyond the 24 hours the MSFS gives as an option. So, since I can upload weather to Simbrief from ASFS, that's what I do.

Any pointers on how to use ASFS and BATF together, or what the pitfalls are?
