Yeah and I commented on the video like he always mentions its not him it's either the filter or Youtube AI in this case. Funny don't see other content creators having this issue. Hopefully Toliss and the line training captain tell him some hard truths.

    Oh grow up.

  • Many people mention, how smooth the performance with the Aero A340 is. Even on big airports (main destinations for the 600). I guess the performance was one main reason, they don't use high res text

The guy in that video needs glasses. The difference is quite large in favour of the IniBuilds where texturing is concerned. I immediately noticed it when i loaded the A346, it feels "X-Plane-ish" whil

Made some legs with the 600 and I more and more get the impression, that it isn't only performance, that 'motivated' Aerosoft to make bad visuals. You can go through all the things that define this plane and take a guess, who made it (Aerosoft or Toliss) 😄. And yes, there is indeed some lack of commitment recognizable on the Aerosoft side.

It's not only the overall bad texturing and modeling alone - also the tiny things.
Just for example, the default GSX profile, they provided for this plane (in the ../SimObjects/A346 folder) is either done without knowledge and/or motivation. They just should have left it out. (And I suggest you go to the aircraft folder and delete it.)
The default profile inside GSX for the A340-600 is not the best of all, but much better than the Aerosoft's one. (I just made my own custom profile by now.)
Another one, around the topic 'UNFLYABLE!😉 : no Pilot or FO from the outside view in the cockpit. I programmed at least a FO on the right seat to have one with me from inside the cockpit (I do that with all airliners). She can also be seen from outside now. But the Captain is still missing from the outside view (cause I don't want him to be visible in the inside view).

The wingflex animation reminds me of the PMDG737 (at least for 2020). Stuttery and unconvincing. There is also a Toliss part in that task, but I would guess the animation itself wasn't made by them.

It's the little things, that shows the amount of engagement. And yes, an aircraft with a price of 30-40 bucks is okay that way. An aircraft for 70 bucks should be better. They simply didn't hear the last call.

I just can't find it "immersive" with these textures. It's an amazing A346 simulator, great sound, nice flight model (that i'm aware of - not an actual pilot) but when you LOOK at anything... Ugh.

If you don't care much about texture quality, go for it. To me it's overpriced because of this, and it's not even a native MSFS2024 model for €72 (if you include my 23% VAT which i fortunately avoided).

Whether we like it or not, a good graphic package is important and the bar has been set very very high already.

These are fair points, esp as you note how high the bar has been raised (to OUR benefit! 😁)

OTOH, I don’t really remember as much light and heat over the Mad Dog v1 in MSFS, which is essentially the same situation. (And AFAIK, even v2 still isn’t graphically fantastic…).

Also, we should keep in mind what a practically unusable dumpster fire the iB A350 was at launch and for months afterwards, and contrast that to this situation where, AFAICT, the only substantive complaints ARE the graphics. Everything else is getting very favorable reviews.

Also, also…let’s not forget that iB and even Fenix (esp early on) are famously heavy drags on FPS. I.e., there is no Free Lunch and no magic tricks for great performance.

IMHO, a LOT of the angst for this bird is coming because it’s an Aerosoft product. And to be fair (to us), AS have earned a reputation for mediocre (or worse) MSFS products. And poor ongoing support.

Again, evidence the Mad Dog…

NONE of this is meant to call you out or disagree, but rather shared as different perspective.

In sum, I’d much prefer a Day 1 launch like the A340 over an unstable, bug ridden journey like the AS 330 or iB A350 was. 🤙

And to be clear, we’re seeing signs across the board that MANY devs are upping their game in areas  where they were previously sub-par.

So, no hate on iB, esp given that their A340 has gone substantially better than the A350, and they even just released a couple of crackingly good updates for the “abandonware” A300! 👍

And I’ll even give props to Aerosoft, because what a Gut Check it must’ve been to take on a partner to handle the systems & physics, etc. so even they are growing in the right direction. They just have a lot of lost ground to make up.

Leaving aside the person, what remains is what he took a look at and showed in the video (like the abysmal night lighting). I like his reviews exactly because the checks things in a much different way than the "common" streamer does and that's exactly what I need as a potential customer wanting to make a purchase decision. I don't need to take over his personal opinion, I can form my own

This is true, but you’ve got to balance out his opinions with the other IRL Airbus pilot reviews.

And by the inverse token, I do appreciate his IRL experience and perspective.  I just take most everything any of them say with a pinch or two of salt. 🤙

Hello all,

I purchased this over the weekend and I’m very impressed with the cockpit and systems. I haven’t had a chance to actually fly it yet. I’ve just been configuring the throttles etc and getting everything set up.

I looked at the manual provided but I could not see anything regarding sensitivity settings for the joystick. I’m using the Thrustmaster Airbus joystick. Is there a recommended base setting for the sensitivity settings? I’ve tried searching online but I couldn’t find any information regarding it.

Thanks, Jonathan.

Agree on the visuals in the Ini A343.   The way the leather panels in the corners of the MIP are textured is just divine.  But I hate how this plane hand flies in high drag / low speed configuration.  When you disconnect the AP on finals it starts wallowing around and losing track, with no wind or control inputs. I posted about this last week, including a link to a YT video from a RW A343 captain who has been on type since 2001.   He found the same thing.  Said the flight handling characteristics are ok until the high drag / low speed stage on finals, when the flaps are down and you're at VAPP.

To be honest, the way Ini A343 flies in this regime, reminds me exactly of how the SWS PC-12 flew in the same flight phase, when first released. Those who know, know!

Please get me a link to that video. I also find the same btw ...

Just funny no one else complaining on any other channel about it.

Just funny how you slelectively chose to not see it. I see shadow ban complaints all the time. People starting to type certain words differently so as not to trigger the AI filter that deletes comments. Examples: PDF, Notsi... etc. etc...

Funny that AI is supposedly so advanced and yet YouTube's AI moderator is incapable of contextualizing.

I’m not sure if you folks are convincing me to get it, or convincing me not to get it.

I'll put it another way you have the likes of fd2s or others not getting the same repeated comments saying where is my comment you just don't. What ever way you look at it only this Youtuber. Quite funny you saw people copy and pasting the exact same messages only the developers were hidden every time.

He has admitted previously he will delete comments that doesn't suit him. For what everyone dislikes about this individual I am not suprised and don't quite buy the AI excuse because it is everytime a ranting video appears funny when a PMDG video is done its not the same excuse.

He even admits he will only fly high quality airliners or at least half decent he will not fly if rubbish. Bar default airliners for a laugh. Doesn't go into rants just says it how it is, believes its a fantastic partnership.

Watch his landing near the end of the video, and his comments on the handling during this phase.

Warning to others:  this is O/T - about the Ini A340.  But he asked for the video so here it 😊

Well I had to get this bird as there hasn't been a 340-600 since early FSX days (may have been earlier) and  because I made the mistake of getting the inbuilds A340 with the false impression it included both variants - my bad.  Now I can see why many are banging on about textures being below par but hopefully it will do the job as it is unlikely we will see another developer do an A340-600 any time soon.

To be honest , the textures really are not that bad 'in the flesh' .  I think some people are just overly OCD in certain contexts and cannot help but see (in glaring detail) something which doesn't fit a frame of reference they are used to.
